I recommended that if you found any question difficult, you could mark it for review later, so you won't spend lots of time on one question. After you finish all the easy questions, you could go over the questions that you marked for review and you could solve them for a few minutes, and then review the whole paper at the end. The IEO Olympiad is relatively easy compared to the NSO and preparation for it can easily be completed in a short span of time, as some relatively basic knowledge of English (like choose-the-correct-word questions) is usually tested. However, as the NSO Olympiad Questions cover a wide range of chapters, it is slightly trickier. Nevertheless, it is possible to complete the preparation with enough practice (like 1 chapter every 2 days) and regular revision.

I would recommend two things: 1. Get the SOF MTG books, as these have SOF exam-style questions, whereas most other books don't. 2. Check the SOF website for info on the syllabus and let your child practice one topic at a time for a set amount for preparation. Make sure that your child finishes the whole syllabus before the exam, and doesn't get stuck on one topic for the whole prep time. Above all, efficient and dedicated practice time is key.
