Yes Ms Debbie saltfish and Cho Cho nice and salt fish is also nice when cook with cucumbers one love blessings to you and family
@bonitaweekes43662 жыл бұрын
We call it Christophene and cook it as a vegetable, it is good for Diabetics. It is a member of the squash family, can be eatened cooked or raw, when raw it is grated in to salads. Those are old and we would keep them for planting. I cook it in my vegatables, beans, carrots, christophene, broccoli, it can be also stuffed, done as a casserole. When we do pudding and souse and cucumbers are scarce or too expensive just grate in some christophene with the cucumbers you have. It is grown all over the Caribbean and in the southern states of the USA.

I dont remember that as a kid, but its similar to a green Caribbean long squash. Cooking style is similar Guyanese country cooking...that originated with Indians, as they tended not to eat a lot of meat . You catch any type of meat, saltfish, shrimp, fry fish etc you have on hand and you cook it with some type of vegetable you have. 100 different ways you can can mix, and match, plain, or brown, with tomatoes or more like a stew looking or with curry if if you want
