The true meaning of "scaling" is to get the most productivity out of human labor so Mike nailed it by saying efficient processes and better equipment is how you scale.
@TheFreshRinse8 ай бұрын
Thank you. I’m actually currently putting together a list of ways to scale without hiring employees. More efficient equipment is at the top of the list.

@@TheFreshRinsewell, since you're an influencer in this business, I implore that you stress that "scale" really means economy-of-scale which means to get the most productivity out of human labor. However, for some reason, people are using the term to mean growing your business. Albeit, they seem similar but the term is constantly misused which can really make people lose sight on how to "grow", not "scale" a business. White boards and throwing out the term scale gives me douche chills 😂

Being efficient certainly does matter. I run a 4gpm and you are correct, the rinsing is where most of the time is spent. I can do a 2800 Sq Ft 2 story house wash in about an hour and 40 minutes give or take from taking pics, to property protection, pulling hose and wrapping it all up. I may spend more time rinsing than i should but i would rather rinse too much than not enough. Great video as always Mike!

Another great vid, thanks for sharing your wisdom with all of us! If I may ask.. In regards to injectors, is the best way to tell what ratio you pull with a machine is to do a draw test? I am using a 5.5 right now and like the idea of using less chems in the warmer months and reducing the risk of hurting plant life.
@TheFreshRinse8 ай бұрын
Yes, I do draw tests. That’s how I came up with the 15 to 1 for the 2.3.

Iv got a 5.5 @3500. A normal house wash in the suburbs with minimal property protection and a cookie cutter footprint. It takes me 1-2 hours to clean a house running solo with the flow pro. However some jobs have many more elements. Moving furniture, working around vegetable gardens, lots of taping, lots of wood. Who knows. I cleaned a home 2 weeks ago with 3 grills along with the bags of charcoal and pellets and piles of wood and so on. The deck had 9 wind chimes and about 10, 15” pots with soil. I was cleaning inside of a greenhouse aswell among other things. That project took 2, 7 hr days. I know you’re supposed to tell customers to put it away or inside. But some are not able and I’m willing to do it if it means the project comes out perfect. I do however need to take a rest day after that. It beats the crap out of me 😂

You are 100% correct. This particular house wash wasn’t standard. Most of the time there’s a lot more to it.

Yo fresh! I have gained a lot of knowledge over the winter, but on my first job that I used chemical (yesterday) I found myself underprepared in many ways. Can you go over in a future video some things that aren't so obvious when using SH? Thanks!

I was feeling like a slacker when you said you're washing a house in about an hour, but I see below that others are taking up to a couple hours as well. Property protection is killing me. I guess you and JD get all the houses with no issues....becasue they are all here where I am. You're welcome!!!
@TheFreshRinse8 ай бұрын
I hear you. I should go into more detail when I make those statements. But, every video is unrehearsed. That house had little or no landscaping. It was an easy wash. You are not a slacker.

Are you running straight SH with soap and letting the downstream injector dilute it?

I’m downstreaming it straight (no soap and no added water). Yes, the injector dilutes the mix. Great question.

@@TheFreshRinse thanks I've been running 2 gallons of sh to 2 water in a bucket then through my injector. 1.8 injector 4gpm machine. I always wondered if I was too weak or not. I mean it works well ya know. But always looking for other ideas

It is held to the plate with an “Unloader block”. You can order it from Southside Equipment. You’ll have to call. It’s not on their website.
