From you advise, I did start putting a 10% inurance. Nobody refused it and like you said, it does cover the extra cleaning and frustration. I'm lucky so far, nor broken item.

Your videos inspired me to finally take the business leap and go for it. Wanted to for many years but was always scared; because of you I finally made the plunge. Sold my car and bought a work van. Once I get my legal stuff in order, I'm buying my inventory and getting the ball rolling! (Already formed my LLC and tax stuff). THANK YOU!

I’m in chicago and the competition is fierce we only on fb ,I do free delivery any where with in 10 miles and don’t go any further because of the time it take to drive one hour . I love this channel next summer I will be on google and make a website

Why do you offer free delivery & gas $5?
@therentalguy
@therentalguy 2 жыл бұрын
It only takes an hour to get on Google. Don’t wait, you want to start that asap. If the competition is fierce on Facebook make sure and expand your adverting efforts to places where it’s less fierce to increase your chances of getting bookings. Remember that bookings don’t happened on Facebook only there are customers everywhere on all platforms willing to spend money. All it takes is your time to research said platform to be able to make ads, post and offers that will convert into customers. Every minute spent looking at your competitors is a minute wasted that could be spent acquiring new customers! You got this!!!

This was a super awesome video! There is one question I haven’t heard anyone in this business talk about is what do you do when it comes to inclement weather? How do you handle tent setups when you’re looking at the weather app on your phone? Also cancellations from the client regarding this topic? 💪
@therentalguy
@therentalguy 2 жыл бұрын
I started making a video about this. But basically install earlier instead of leaving the weather up to chance. However when you have tents going out 4-5 days every week you just have to install in most weather anyways. Wait out the rain, park vehicles in front of the tent install area to block wind, stake as you go, use tent jacks. These are some things that I do.

If I do the rpp, what will I do if something go bad, won't I lose a lot of money on the product I bought. Won't it be better to say in the aggrement that if there's anything damage they pay for a replacement.
@therentalguy
@therentalguy Жыл бұрын
Nope, RPP is way better because even if they don’t break it your still making money. And when something does happened it’s no sweat! Think about it this way. If you make 30,000.00 in 1 season. You’ll get an extra 3k!

You really hit the nail on the head with the delivery cost. It's one area that I don't waver in anymore. Don't care what the rental consists of. That travel time is costly especially as a small Business. I have to bill it unapologetically now.

Thanks for the comment. There is a lot of money in customer pickups during the growing stage. So for that reason I will not discount delivery.

Love the RPP!! My question is about deposits. What percentage of total rental should deposit be?? Is deposit refundable?? I know I'm not making as much money as I can and I believe my deposit structure is wrong. I also use booqable, thanks to you and it works for the most part.

You’ll have to charge RPP. You can’t do an insurance claim everytime something breaks. Here is a video that goes over it 👉🏻 kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6q5pZZ_frRlqdE

What is RPP?
@therentalguy
@therentalguy 2 жыл бұрын
RPP is a rental protection plan (insurance for your customer). It automatically gets added to every order to protect the client from having to pay for a damaged item. Just like regular insurance, there are stipulations. No coverage for abuse or theft of items and it only covers the first $100 of damage and then the rest is a is covered for 50%. However the stipulations very from company to company. I charge an additional 10% on my orders. Some in my area charge 15% and cover 100% of damage.

Can't say I agree with the hidden costs or the price checking. Hidden costs seem like a good way to get a VERY costly bad review on Google. I've found that being upfront about all expenses makes a happy customer and insures repeat business. The only reason to try to be the cheapest is if it's your first year and your trying to get a name for yourself, otherwise it's pretty easy to stay booked regardless of the pricing. Once established, people will book with you because of the quality of your product. If you keep all of your items clean, want to be able to afford GOOD workers, and still put money in your own pocket, you can't be the cheapest. Deceiving people into thinking you are isn't a good strategy. Most people understand you get what you pay for. If a customer is going to pick another company to save a few dollars, then they can enjoy their dirty chairs and moldy tents. They'll make sure to call you next time.

It’s not hiding costs. There are so many levels of service that you can’t list without overwhelming the customer to the point where they leave. The costs are listed at their base and the RPP is a general thing to do here in my corner of the globe. I’m just following suit. But yes your right.
