100% Agree with you on this. I hope this video reaches a lot of new up and coming pressure/soft washing business owners and learn this way of properly estimating a roof wash. We all hurt when new owners are focused so much on getting the business going and start give out crazy prices. Not properly calculating only leads to a less profitable business or not profitable at all after calculating business Opex every month.

That's insane. 400 to add life onto your roof is a great investment. And the service lasts for a 5 years or more depending if there's no trees around.

I use this method but simplified it into 3 multipliers. I use 1.5, 1.22, and 1.41 as a rule of thumb but I'll vary depending on complexity or how dirty sometimes. Makes things very consistent and removes guess work. Love it. Good video.

What percentage are you spraying on the roof? Moss usually gotta be blown off or if you spray it with a 5% mix it will die and fall off the roof but it doesn't happen instantly

I go back and forth on this but what if the house has solar panels? Do you subtract off the sq ft of the solar panels? I like to think with flat tile roofs we can spray above and let chemical run under but on the barrel tile roofs, which are most common where I'm at, you can't really spray under the panels or let chemical run under them since it'll just run into the channels, it's pretty much just wasting chemical...

Yes if theres solar panels you would just subtract the square footage of the panels since you are not cleaning that area. Brother Im not trying to be funny when i say that little chemical that runs under if its a tile roof wont put you into bankruptcy lol the cost isnt that much but Im not in your position so I can really say.

@rangeism I don't price mine like that. I just do them by size. Small medium and large. Large being those tall 2 story cages. Prices I'm not sure on cause everywhere is different and every business has different costs/overhead. If I can average $250-350 an hour that's good for me but that may not be for someone else

To find you market rate, you're gonna have to network with people in your area that are in your industry and do a market research to see where the high income areas are near you.

That's putting too much pressure on me to find your pricing. I am not that qualified to make such decision. Best thing I can tell you is go research your area/Market to see what the going rate is and charge accordingly. Factor in your experience, influence, overhead and business operation costs.

Great video on measurement. Since you are not having to be super accurate, missing the pitch by 1 or so is not life or death. Insurance pays about 50 cents more per square foot for something between 7/12-9/12. So, charge a bit more for steep as it will take longer and come off faster if no gutter.

No the house walls aren't included in a roof wash. That would be a house washing service. And driveway/sidewalks are a separate service as well. That's concrete cleaning. Everything is separate in this industry. It's not buy one service and get your whole property included.

House washing is different. You can get the square foot from a realtor site. Then add the garage sq ft to get your total sq ft. Your price per sq ft is gonna make up for if it's 2 or 3 stories. Rather than .15c a sq ft, you can go .20-25c.

What materials? Anytime you quote pressure washing, roof cleaning, paver sealing or any service its always all included in the quote.

Thats what im asking because in the video he explained that you multiply the total number of sqft and pictch factor times the rate that you charge so saying that i charge 0.25 per sqft that will include the material in the 0.25

@Whiss Guzman oh yes that's included for everything. Whatever price per square footage you're charging gets you your total price. Example 4000 sq ft x .25 = $1000 , you may spend under 100 in materials which is only sh and gas depending on your market. And it will typically take under 1.5hrs to do that size roof
