Imporant to price properly. Don't forget to pay yourself. Large items that take lots of time are for my grandkids. I feel others will not pay for my time. Those are for individual orders only. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your advice on pricing products, very simple to understand and well presented!!! I'm saying this because some people just explain and make it so complicated 😅

It’s interesting how you figured out what to charge. I would have no idea how to figure that out.

Thank you, this was wonderful. I am currently working on a granny strip blanket (not granny square) sized 30 inch x 35 inch for a lady wanting it for her grandaughter for Christmas. She said the most she wanted to pay was $50 so I agreed but she also wanted a small granny square purse (3 rows for 3 granny squares) however I feel like this is way too low of a price because I already have 3.5 hours into the blanket and I’m not even halfway done yet. It’s probably going to take me 15-20 hours (because I am a slow crocheter) and I figured if I charged $10 an hour that would be $150 if it took me 15 hours, not including the material. So any help would be nice. However I already told her I would do it so I feel as if I can’t back out but it’s not very fair because just the materials itself costed around $35. So I’m only getting $15 for all of my time so if it took me 15 hours that would be $2.25 an hour for my labor, but that’s just for the blanket, not including the purse as well (that would mean I’m basically doing the purse for free). So anything helps, thank you 🫶🏼

Hour and a half work, plus 4$ for supplies, how much should I charge? It's a kinda medium/large turtle. I charge 20$ now
@reigningcharmz6 ай бұрын
@@skylettscott9198 depends on what you want to make hourly for your time. I try to aim for $15 an hour, sometimes it’s more sometimes it’s less. That’s why market research is important to see what others are able to sell similar plushies at. If you can’t make a decent income from that one, it may be good to find a different plushie to make ☺️

I think $20 is very reasonable considering it’s larger and handmade. People will pay at least that much for a factory made one in the store.

Allot of people think it's too expensive most of the time. I do have allot of baskets with other price ranges, but last time a child really wanted a little cow (€7) and the mother saw it, turned away and talked in a different Language 'lets go to the fair attractions instead' Or parents were literally pushing their kids to walk further so they wouldn't stop to shop. :s

@@skylettscott9198 yeah sometimes that happens! Can’t let that discourage you though ☺️

People are like that sometimes. It’s okay though because plenty of people will stop and buy from you. Never let anyone’s behavior stop you from reaching your goals 😊

$15 an hour sounds rather unfair. I actually have morals (or at least try my best) and would feel bad charging someone too much when I’m not a professional at crocheting.
