How to Print a Shipping Label on Etsy

If you are selling on Etsy, the easiest and cheapest way to mail your packages is directly through Etsy’s platform.
So far, this is the best way I have found for 2 reasons…
1. Shipping on Etsy is cheaper. Being an Etsy seller qualifies you for commercial base shipping prices, which are slightly cheaper than the prices you would pay if you went to the post office and paid there.
2. The tracking number is automatically sent for you. You no longer have to copy the tracking number from your receipt to send to your buyer. When you buy through Etsy, their system automatically sends them an email with the tracking number + shipping information. Automation for the win!
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Go to the Orders and Shipping tab in your Shop Manager
2. Find the order you want to ship.
3. Click the postal truck icon at the top right of the order.
4. Fill out the information with the package details. (Shipping Method, Package Type, Package Dimensions, Package Weight, Ship Date)
5. Click Confirm and Buy
6. Click Purchase
7. Click Print Shipping Label
8. Print your label!

I think it might only be available for united states and canada! :( You might want to get on chat with etsy and ask them what the best way is for shipping from Europe! Sorry I am not able to help more!

How is the charge for the shipping label covered for? And is it all automatically added to the buyer's total? Also, where can you get the receipt? How does free shipping cover the shipping label cost? (Sorry I have lots of questions)

The charge is added to your Etsy seller bill. You can automatically factor in the shipping through the listing using a calculated shipping profile. I think you can get a receipt from Etsy whenever you print them. (We've never used receipts, so I'm not super sure on that one!) Free shipping doesn't cover the cost, so you would have to build that into the price of the actual item! :) No worries at all - Hope that helps!!!

You can do it right where you print labels. Under your address there should be an edit button! :)

Ugh this is annoying!! Possible though! You have to exit out of one label. Right under the address you will see where it defaulted the first one for you and there will be a little X on the right! Click it and then edit the info for 2 items in one package! Sorry it’s hard to explain without a pic, but I hope that helped!

I recently opened my Etsy shop and I'm unable to print a shipping label because it says it's an invalid address. It's an international order. I've tried contacting the buyer through Etsy as well as personal email to confirm the address but I'm not getting a response. If I cancel the order will the buyer be able to leave me a negative review?

I hate when that happens! No the buyer won't be able to leave you a bad review. I would try sending her an email (not just the convo through etsy) and seeing if that works! Would hate to see you lose a sale over it!

You can change the date of the label from the drop down! Try and get it on the right day, but sometimes we mess up and drop off! I wouldn't go through the hassle of refunding and reprinting!

You could probably send it to office max or a family/friend with a printer! Though, if you start selling a lot of items you would probably be better off to get your own printer. You can pick a personal inkjet one pretty cheap from Walmart. :)

When you purchase the labels, it pays the post office through your Etsy seller account! It shows up on your Etsy fees. So its all automatic :)

Hi If I want to print multiply labels how do I set it to print 4 on a page - I use sticky labels that are on A4 paper with 4 labels per sheet. Is that possible

I am not sure if that's possible! I know there is a label printer setting and 2 labels per page (what we use). I don't know about 4 labels per page!

OK thanks. It just seems so wasteful only having 2 labels per sheet. I can fit 4 on when I use Royal Mail . Im not sure how important star seller is within Etsy which is why im doing there labels but it doesn't really work for me I don't think. Thank you so much for your help
