Hey, It depends what port your CB has, in the video, mine has a USB C, then i needed an adapter => regular USB A to USB C. Printers normally use USB B. So the connection would be: printer = USB B ---------------USB A --------adapter -------- USB C = Chromebook Hope it helps, TY for the comment

This video is great, thankyou for helping so many people out! However I am still having an issue. I am trying to connect my old Canon printer (Canon MP280) to my Chromebook via a usb cable and yes it does connect however it doesn't allow me to set it up in the printer settings so it doesnt print. The model I own doesn't come up when it asks me to configure the printer and I'm not sure if that's because it is an old printer and Chromebooks don't support it, or if I am doing something wrong. The printer worked completely fine with my previous Windows running laptop, so I am completely lost.

I connect my Lenovo Flex5 Chromebook to Cannon LaserJet LBP 6030 But can't print the document or sheet. The chromebook detect the Printer correctly but on the notoficatio box appears massage *USB printer connected but need configuration* . Just tried and failed to open an .ods file saved on a usb memory stick - apparently open source file type is not compatible with chromebook unless payment is made for microsoft 365, that really negates some of the reasoning behind buying my chromebook.
