How to Print from Your Smartphone or Tablet with Canon SELPHY CP1300

It's a fun printer. One thing you didn't mention that I like: you don't need to connect it to your WiFi. The printer can setup it's own access point that you connect your tablet/phone to. This allows you to print directly to it. This is especially nice if you take it to a party/gathering. I've found the iOS app to be better than Android when it comes to printing - the Android app shows a print screen while you print while iOS app you can do other things and add more to the print queue.

Nice presentation. May be you could explain if you have a solution, when we print from the iPad or from a Windows PC there is some crop around the photo that i do not have when using the Canon Selphy APP with Android. When you pull out the detachable parts of the paper there is something from the original photo which is lost by the way.

Really want to use bad language here to express my opinion about this printer. I decided to give it a chance and got a second one hoping it had been a bad batch or something. It turns out to be even worse than the previous because this version is supposed to be wi-fi only. It's got a usb port but I keep getting an information from Canon website saying that there's no drive for Mac, that it's just to connect via wi-fi, but I want to use the cable for this very reason, the connection breaks and I keep having to restart the printer between a few prints. Also, often I get streak marks or stains on the prints, just like the previous one I had (which was the main problem with that Selphy version, the connection was better since it used cable).

The ink comes with a package of 36 photos. So you use it only for those 36 photos. If you buy a bigger package - they provide you with more ink. So you dont have to worry about the ink, it comes with the paper in the package that you bought

Follow her instructions - they worked for me and i'd been having trouble too. Power on printer>Wifi>Search for access point>select your wifi network>enter password. If this doesn't work for you, use direct print. The printer will create its own network, and display the password on the printer. Using your phone, select the canon wifi network and enter the password into your phone. This will enable the phone to print directly (without a wifi network).

Take the SD card out and restart the device. It will not use WiFi, if the SD card is in the printer.

Hi. I work in IT and may be able to help. On Canon's website, the specifications for WiFi is 802.11b/g. This is an older wifi protocol and the standard today is 802.11N. Make sure your router is not set to "N only" or make sure it operates in "Legacy Mode". There's tons of guides online that detail how to check this. Look up your router model in Google with something like "Asus router how to turn on b/g". Hope this helps.
