Cheers, Phil. I appreciate you taking the time to do that. Great video, as always from MyMoto. If I get a chance, I will call in tomorrow morning before the afternoon weather hits. If not, I will get down next week and pick up some goodies. 👍

Hi Thebikerformalyknownas. It was my pleasurer. It was a really good suggestion for one of our video's, because helmet cleaning and maintenance is so critical. It was good to see you last Friday and hopefully I'll be able to get you on the channel sometime soon, or as soon as the weather clears. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍

Thanks for that you always thinking about giving you a bike a good clean but I bet there is a lot that forget about me including deep cleaning your motorbike helmet👍 do you you sell like the adventure helmets like Nexx helmets with the front that comes with a attachment that you can screw on the front for your camera too attached too. I think also you can attach a camera to the side too of the Nexx helmet 👍👍

Hi @@thepeakybiker . By my standards, it was filthy. Do I dare share the photos of your helmet before I cleaned it 🤣. Thanks for watching my video and thank you for your ongoing support 👍

Telling people to use tissue to clean a visor is extremely bad advice. Tissue is far more abrasive than you think. A decent visor cleaner is formulated to encapsulate dirt and should be used with a microfibre cloth

Hi ShalomBrother. It is funny you should say that, a lot of companies that make visor cleaners will say the same thing. Where as, if you ask a helmet manufacturer, they will often say not to use specialist visor cleaners because the chemicals they use can affect the anti scratch coating’s. I have been around helmet manufacturers and the race services that prep helmets in the paddock at the British Superbikes and World Superbikes, and the advice that I give is based on my combined knowledge and experience from all of those sectors. The paper tissue is used more to hold the moisture on the visor to soften any debris that has dried, become hard and could then risk scratching the visor. Then by gently removing that, drying the visor with a second towel before then using a minimal amount of visor cleaner to remove the grease, that the water won’t shift, is my recommended approach to clean the visor with minimum risk of it scratch and with minimal contact from chemicals that could effect it. Everyone has their own way of doing things and as long as the end result is to the satisfaction of the person doing it then I would recommend just sticking with it. Thank you for watching my video and thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. 👍

@ thanks for such a detailed reply! Paper is made from wood pulp and is a lot more abrasive than a cloth, expensive helmets like your AGV will have an anti scratch coating so your probably getting away with it, cheaper helmets won’t have such great anti scratch qualities and the tissue will put micro scratches into the visor similar to swirl marks in paint from bad wash techniques. The scratches will build up over time and won’t be instantly visible, but will be a cumulative hazing over time. If you don’t want to use chemicals that’s fair enough, but you should at least be using a soft cloth.
