This video was soooo helpful!!! We are renting a house, but the garage door opener that was in the house did not work (not even the same brand!), so a year and a half later I finally bought some remotes and was determined to program them. Thanks to this video I now have 2 working garage door opener remotes! I also have 2 dogs that escaped during the process (one just recovering from a leg amputation last week), my life is hectic! But I am a happy lady!!!

so what if you don't have the "Jumper" device? can'y you program the second remote as the first? If not, this is a serious design flaw built in by the manufacturer as a way to sell jumpers

What if one button on the remote doesn't work and the others do? I just have to re-program one button. The outside keypad works and the inside wall-mounted unit works too.

The opener that came in my 2006 rearview mirror worked with my m4500. I had that going along with the original remote and obviously I never used a jumper. I used the program button.

Video is not correct to program the "Remote" (code) as stated in his instructions. His instructions result in programming (code) to the garage "Opener" unit. I wanted to change the "Code" for Remote & Opener (for security reasons) and tried using this video. Did not work & "code" unchanged.... good day

cena hassanian Well, it's not clear how one should do this, I understand. My parents had a similar situation and I had to figure out how to solve their issue on my own. Here is what I learned. In the case of someone stealing a remote and you wish to make it so that they will not have access to your garage, you will need to reprogram one of the remotes you own which will thereby lockout all other remotes including the one which was stolen. If you need more than one remote to open your garage you must then use the three prongs to copy the code from the reprogrammed remote to this other remote. I searched the Internet and never found an answer to this question of what to do in the case of a stolen remote, but found a few people asking it. Additionally, my father was told by the installer of the garage door to check out a KZbin video that explained how to reprogram the remote, but the model of his Marantec garage opener was different than the one in the video, so I had to piece the puzzle together myself. :( Perhaps I will have to make a KZbin video explaining the process in detail. It's actually in the manual of the opener, it's just not clear that in the case of losing a remote that a fresh programming followed by transferring the code to your other remotes is the method one should employ. Sure would be nice if the manufacturer would add a few lines of text to their manual explaining this. But then the garage door installers wouldn't be able to make $150 for a visit to push a few buttons. :/ Good luck!

cena hassanian Oh, and if you want to actually remove a stored code on your Marantec remote, that is a different procedure. You said that the remote was stolen so you can't deprogram the stolen one. So, I answered with a solution that would allow you to reprogram your current setup and leave the old and now useless code on the stolen remote. If indeed you want to remove the code from your remotes you own, you will need the 3 prong tool and a screwdriver or something similar to short the pins. I'm sorry I don't have the manual in front of me to explain in detail. But I don't think this is the solution you are ultimately looking for. Basically, do the new fresh remote programming steps and this will make it so that the stolen remote will not open your door, which is what you are truly concerned about, right? Good luck!

All my remotes work and my wall mount as well. The problem I have is range. The remotes work well inside the garage but don’t work at all outside which is pretty much required.

I realize that this video is free, but that doesn't stop it from being very vague and not helpful at all. I need to know how to change my garage door code; this video didn't have an example such as 'I need to change my code from 1234 to 5678.' So, I have to pay someone to come out and do it for me instead. Did the manufacturer make the programming interface so difficult so that we'd have to hire a professional? Sorry for grousing. I assure that I am above average intelligence and that the fault is mostly with the manufacturer.

I found that they missed a step. I have to hold my small remote button while doing the provided steps to program my keypad.
