Got a transponder key off of Ebay. Had it cut. Did this procedure and other KZbin procedure to the letter. The new one never made the lock light go out. It worked sporadically and quit a couple of times. I went super mega cheap ass on two fobs plus key on EBay. Not sure weather or not if it is a shitty key

Its that easy to program exactly as this guy did as long as your GM vehicle has this style key. Be sure to get a original OEM (factory) GM transporter key not an aftermarket one. A factory one would have the GM logo or the vehicle logo. If you have a Chevy the key will have a bow tie logo. Even if you pay more for a factory key blank its worth it since the key will turn easy. The reason I say to do that is because I got 2 aftermarket transporter keys for my 2010 Impala. Both work fine but I have to fiddle around to turn them. Not hard to turn but not normal. Both my original factory keys turn easy the 1st time or how they should. This happened to me with aftermarket ones but it might not happen to you but why chance it over a few dollars.

hoping this works on my 99 cherokee. For some reason after I swapped the motor the jeep won't recognize the key thus no fuel/spark. The jeep literally sat for 18days and key has been used for 2yrs I seriously hope this helps me and if so I will come back and give thanx lol thank you for the explanation btw I didn't mind the talking this was really helpful

are you sure thats the way to do it??? i saw that light you mentioned but when i had my door and turned the key to clean my car and listen to the radio it activated the RKE system which blocked my engine then after 2 min. it blocked my battery unfortunately i bought a used car and they forgot or lost the key and gave me a simple non transponder key,

Go to the dealership and fit about $30 they will cut you a key. You must have the vin number and proof of ownership. Then you take that already cut key and program it.

Whoever is selling the key blanks should have a listing of all vehicles that particular GM transporter key works on. If not email them or contact them by phone. Be sure to buy an original GM transporter key. I got 2 aftermarket keys and although both work I have to fiddle around to turn. Since you have a Pontiac the factory key should have a Pontiac logo.

step by step is easy put it in open to on position leave it alone for 10 min once the 10 min pass by turn off wait 7 sec and do it all over again 10 min then off for 7 sec then 10 min after the 3rd cycle off for 7 sec then turn on ur vehicle its been program

Go to dealership get key and then program it. I bought one today for 2001 Buick le-sabre cost me 55$ gotta program key now. Gomna try this trick tomorrow. I seen another video that said leave key in on position for 10 minutes turn off. Repeat 2 more times and it should crank. I tied earlier and my battery died.. So idk if it works or not.

Not all transponder keys says Transponder on them I got an 05 Dodge Grand caravan and that takes a transponder key and it came with the original key and it doesn't say transponder on it but it uses a chip and I have a Chevy truck C1500 and an olds bravada

I don't get anything when I turn the key on. Nada. Zero. Dead. My alarm went off one day while cleaning out car, for a couple of minutes. Now it is totally dead. I tried disconnecting the battery overnight but didn't help. I try locking car doors and reopening the with key. The Anti-theft will not recognize key. Not a single light or gauges work. Any solutions out there before I tear into wires and disable entire system.?

i had ONE key left, and it was ONLY a cut key without a transponder in it. I hand filed the key, best to have one done at Wallmart or at a locksmith, then turned the igition on, then put in the NEW Transponder key, did the 10 minute "Learn" mode 3x elswhere on KZbin, and the NEW Transponder key DID Learn the code after 3 10 minute on modes !!! So long and short, I didn't have the TRANSPONDER key, only a cut key without the transponder.

Of course if you loose all keys to any vehicle you won't be able to get a new one cut besides going to a lock smith or dealer. Now I think you can use any programmed transporter key for your GM vehicle to program another one. Its as simple as what he did in the video. Its also nice you don't need 2 keys just to program one new key for GM vehicles. So you know I got 2 uncut transporter keys off ebay.com for $10. I got them cut and programmed them myself (for my 2010 Impala LS).Yes its that easy the only problem I encountered was I got a hard time getting them cut.

mike beauchaine Sorry to hear that. I took a chance myself after watching videos and reading its easy to program GM transporter keys like that. It happened to work for me and both keys were around $10 so I took the chance. I had a hard time getting them cut was the biggest issue. I programmed them easy but got a Service Theft System message at first but just waited a half hour and was able to program them. Mh car is a 2010 impala. They uncut keys even came with instructions how to program. Really can't give you advice not knowing your car make and model. Contact the key seller maybe you missed a step or the new keys were not properly cut. As long as you have 2 usable keys I wouldn't mess round getting anymore keys. If you need another spare just get one cut professionally. Depending on your GM vehicle most hardware stores have them for $70 and for some vehicles Walmart can cut them for $40.

Word to the wise. Don't show off your key in the video. I can plainly see the cuts on your key allowing me to cut a key as well as the model which you even stated. If someone wanted to get into your car, you have literally made it as easy as using a key.

The first digit of your 17 digit VIN number must start with the number 1 or 4. If your VIN number starts with a 2 or 3 or a letter these procedures WILL NOT WORK.

not sure if this is 100% correct, most of these vans were made in the same factory, the first digit is a country code and not directly related to the vehicle or its ECM, In this group, the first digit or letter identifies the country of origin. For example, cars made in the U.S. start with 1, 4 or 5. Canada is 2, and Mexico is 3. Japan is J, South Korea is K, England is S, Germany is W, and Sweden or Finland is Y.
