Thank you! Will give this a try once more before throwing my mini mkII into the trash. Been frustrated trying to re-assign notes to the drum pads. Don’t think I was unplugging device after remap. This Akai software and instructions are crap. Considering purchasing M-audio mini if can’t get this to work.

How can you assign your own samples to this? I had an old Mpc and it loaded and I was able to sample from turntables easy as hell since it was a standalone thing, but this one is a nightmare.

You use VST plug ins in your DAW. This product doesn't make it's own sounds. Only sends MIDI signals to the DAW

can you load your own samples onto the mpk and then use it live with those samples but not connected to a computer or DAW?

I use Garageband but you can do this with any program.

I had to go to settings (cog in the top right) and click "Show Advanced Software", then "MPK Mini Editor - mk3" shows in the list

Can you assign instrument notes to the pads? I'm thinking about getting some low notes in there so as to expand the range, is it possible?

I believe you can follow a pretty similar method I used here to change the notes assigned to the pads.

you can. there is a section right above the numbers for the notes. Just make sure that the notes are equal to the number of the note on a piano.

u gotta make sure NO other software relating to Midi is open in background like your DAW for instance else it crashes i beleive ?
