How to Program an Orbit 3 Port Timer

This has always been an awesome water controller and timer. It is so simple and the large label large dial is so easy to work with. Brilliant and yet simple. The two AA batteries seem to last for years. I have had one sitting in my storage room for at least four years unattended and I picked it up to put it on a newly designed watering setup and it was still working. The batteries were still good and the LCD just a little difficult to see so I put new batteries in it. Us AA Alkaline or better for a good service. Thank you Orbit for a good design item and I hope you keep it for a long time to come.

Do you have to set manual watering for each line if you've just fertilized and need to do all 3 lines.

I have a 4 outlet system. When I press manual, the manual word does not come on and I am unable to select a particular hose. This is the second system I have ordered. I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong because neither system is ever showing the word manual and allowing me to select the hose I want to use. Help please.

Hi, does it always flash back and forth between the time and the "next start" screen if it's working? No matter what I do, mine won't stay programmed and it keeps displaying only the time.

I had the same issue. Was able to fix it. Every time you change the setting (start time to how long, etc...) by default it sets to zone1. I set the start time for zone3 but the duration was set for zone1 because of which it was not working as expected. Once I changed the duration for zone3 then it is working fine.

Is there any ways that I can run 3 lines manually at the same time???

Is it possible to program the timer so that the zones run on different days? I would like to water all three zones at 4am for the same amount of time, but I need them to do it on different days. (zone 1, day 1… zone 2, day 2 etc etc. )

I had the same question. Seems like you could do that previously when they offered the actual days of the week (mon, tue, wed, etc.)

Under Manual outlet in the setup instruction page you mention "■ Open the valve in the port by turning the lever counterclockwise to the open position. ■ Close the valve by turning the lever to the closed position." Where is the lever, I do not see one on my unit?

Had the 3 port Orbit for two years, the station 2 has stopped working. Can hear the valve click, but no water. Any suggestions?

Say I wanted to run all 3 lines in sequential order on manual mode for 5 minutes each. Right now if I press manual mode then the right arrow once, set line to 5 minutes, right arrow again set to 5, right arrow again 5, then one more right arrow: it lights up all 3 outlets and blinks ALL at me. The up and down arrows do nothing on this ALL screen. Press nothing for 2 seconds and it’ll run 1 for 10 minutes, then 2 for 10, then 3 for 10. I don’t get why that isn’t lowering the time

Do I need to be careful not to have overlapping programs? In other words, can two or 3 ports run water at the same time?

None of the ports will water at the same time. if you do end up having overlapping programs they will stagger and run in sequence, with the low number port first.

I’ve set station 1 and 2 to automatically water every 12 hours. #1 works perfectly. #2 has never automatically come on. It will water that zone if I manually set it, but no matter what time I set it to water, it never turns on automatically. I’ve made sure that it’s on the right station and the am/pm is correct. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Same exact issue here! I sent my first unit back due to this. The new one just came in and it has the same exact issue. This might be the most worthless hunk of plastic I’ve ever purchased.

Same issue. For me, it was my error. Once I methodically set each zone before turning to the next section on the dial, ALL works as it should.

Mine are not going off every 4 hours when I set it to 6 hours. they also are not going off twice a day with every 12 hours.

This sounds like a programming error. To get every 6 hours, make sure the HOW OFTEN time is set to 6 hours. Also, make sure you don't have multiple start times on each program or it's going to run multiple times.

After one season of using my timer, it has decided that even with brand new batteries it dies before I can even set the time. Very sad.

Muy bueno el video, y aparentemente muy bueno el producto... Pero... Acabo de recibir ... y no logro configurar el SET CLOCK, queda parpadenado...lo mismo sucede con el STAR TIME el HOW LONG y el HOW OFTEN todos quedan parpadenado.... realizo todas las configuraciones pero todas quedan parpadeando y el SET CLOCK que queda papadeando no avanza por lo que NO queda programado.... preciso de Vuestra ayuda @orbitlawgardenlife para configurarlo por favor...muchas gracias!
