I am working my way through this video and setting up my new system. The DLS software would not communicate at first. I had downloaded from the link provided here. For those who also have this issue, be sure to go to HELP and then Update to get the latest version. After I did that, my software was at version 1.73 and I had no issues. So far this video has been very helpful and I am relieved that I can use my laptop to configure my system rather than the keypad.

If you don't have a NEO but a PC16** you need to go to the install menu section 499 (twice) at 4:22 in order for the panel to start downloading or uploading.

Informative video, Thanks. Have Power Series for 20+ years or so and thinking of upgrading. System been running good. Just had to replace battery on sensor (2 time all these years). If I cant get my DLS2002 interface running again. I just may decide for the NEO and I think that uses DLS-5. I can program from keypad but helps to have the software. So far I was able to connect and upload but no actual data that I had printed years ago on the changes I made. Still working on it. Again Thanks and I will be back for more education.

Excellent video and well thought out how all the info was presented!!! Thank you sharing and the time you put into this. I have an older DSC 632 panel PC1555MX PowerSeries but will use basically the same procedure as you presented. Of course, when I get to the *8 5555 code 403 & 404, I get binary number output, so had to decipher into real numbers and my numbers had 4 digits instead of 6 in your video. Again... your video was the best I found anywhere, to the point and easy to understand without all the techno-jargon of an authorized DSC Instructor. Thanks again!!!

Hi, Thanks for the excellent video and detailed steps. I have a PC1832 panel with RFK5500 keypad, and I have problems getting the program to autodetect. Just wonder what I did wrong. Even as I tried specifying the panel ID and the keypad, the program seems having problems with the RFK keypad, and keep putting in 2 separate type keypad models instead of the RFK. Appreciate you can provide some insights to the problems. Thanks.

Hello Automation guy I'm new at this...I have an 183200 dls panel I contected it to the Pc link...going well till DLS access code section / panel ID. When I enter section 403 or 404 it says "enter Hex data" then 183200 below for both...what is this and how can I overcome this section...?? Tks

If you haven't figured this out yet, the DLS access code and panel ID can be whatever you want at the end of the day, as long as they are each identical between the panel and the DLS software. Both fields are by default 183200 for your panel. Having that entered into both fields during setup should allow you to connect no problem

Do you have any experience connecting to the Neo over IP? I have a HS2064, TL280R. I can connect to the 280 via DLS no problem if i just select Auto-> communicator. However if i try to add a panel i get this error "IP: The Panel Type HS2064 version 1.0 in the account did not match the panel type 0131 version 12 in the field." I have tried all the HS2064 panel options and they all yield this same result. If i Auto detect the panel it says it found HS2016, but then gives the same error. The sticker on the panel is a HS2064 so I am at a loss why it is saying the panels doesnt match.

i had the same issue and found out some of the pc link cables are reversed and was told to have the pc link circuit board above the pins on the panel instead of below and it worked for mine!

The only option I know is Alarm.com and it has a monthly fee. DSC has a partnership with alarm.com.

You can do it with Envisalink 4.it works with DSC. I used it with DSC1832.you can control your panel like arm, disarm and control Pgm. check the statut .you can also receive email notification .all of these staff are free.

As long as you can connect to the panel via the DLS software (you'll need the panel ID code and DLS access code, which may be something other than default if you have a panel that was previously installed), there is a section for Master/Installer codes that you can view and edit as required, under "System" --> "Installer Options"

Think of zones as just sensors connected to your panel. Generally speaking each sensor would be a zone (wired, on the board itself, or wireless). Partitions are separate partitions/sections of a building or premise that can be armed and disarmed independently. For example you may have a factory with a single panel. One partition can be the production area with its own keypad. The other partition can be the office section with its own keypad. Production area can be armed while the office area is disarmed. Or office can be armed while production is disarmed. I hope this clarifies your question.

Just check your drivers for your serial adapter. Make sure its install and the computer see it. Maybe try a different USB Port (or a system reboot). When you are trying to load to the panel. Try sending the file, (instead of going into programming to initiate the panel ) Just unplug the pc-link from the panel then plug it back in. See if the progress bar moves.

So I tried all above including removing software and reinstalling it. Could it be the adapter is bad as my computer sees the Belkin USB to serial adapter and gives it a comm port so I'm at a loss and will just buy another adapter. If you have any other thoughts I would appreciate your input

Figured maybe I’d ask someone else who’s used this software. So all is good until I finished programming everything, basically the software is telling me a ton of stuff isn’t programmed when it is it tells me to fix errors but when I download from panel to pc says all is good, I goto download that same into from pc back to panel and says enter valid info, when it’s been valid and is valid
