Hi, can you please tell me where the dip switches are on the model 555 overhead door brand garage door opener operator? I got where the dips which is are on the remote. But I don't know where the dip switches are on the opener and so I can't set it. Can you please tell me where they are? Or do a video and show where to look for them. Specifically on the opener? I am sure there are many people wondering the same thing and nobody has thought to do the video to show them how to set the dip switches on the actual. All opener unit. Thanks for the video. You just have to make sure the universal remote is set to the correct frequency. For this model opener it is 390mhz. Which is position A on the remote.

This was the ONLY video I could find with my Overhead motor. With this, I could find the 'learn' button and successfully program my remote. It helped knowing how many times I had to press the remote for the code programming. Thank you!!!

Thanks for sharing the video. I have the same brand opener with the same model, and I bought an universal remote (390 hmz), however it flashed 5 times every time I press on the new remote. And my opener has a sticker indicates the freq. 312 - . I tried look up everywhere, the remote with 312 mhz seems impossible to find. The wall switch works perfectly fine.

If I program a new remote to work with my garage door opener like this, does it cause the old remotes to stop working? I guess what I'm asking is whether the garage door opener is changing its code to match the new remote, or whether the remote is learning the code for the garage door opener?

Thank you for the video. I have Overhead 550 model and I could not find any instructions. This helped me a lot. For me, not only position A on the remote is important, but I had to go open the remote case and change the brand jumper setting to group number 4 which is "A" jumper "+" and "B" jumper "0". Once I had the remote set correctly, it worked just like your video. Now I am trying to program my car garage remote using this remote, but no joy so far.

Great video, however, be sure to let people know that the position on the remote is important! Until I looked in the comments, I didn't know that I needed to change the position on the remote. After we did that, it worked great!

I have a two door system and somehow I programmed both openers to one button. How do I clear the codes out?

@ShadowBlaze00 Thanks for your question. Here is a generic way that might work to remove the codes. Locate the learn button on your garage door opener. Press and hold the learn button until the led turns off. After you do that all codes should be released. You can also Google search her garage door opener manual and see how to reset your specific garage code. I hope this helps and hopefully you subscribe to big Al Repairs.

Thank you for the quick reply but I should clarify that I have this model the 555. When you press and hold the SC button it don’t clear out any codes. I cannot find any manuals on it and since it’s so old not many people have this
