Wow.. The first time I hit the up channel button my tv came on. lol.. I spent 40 minutes trying to type in each individual code and none of them worked. Your method worked in 10 seconds.. Awesome!

Thanks to you I fixed my mother in law her familyTV. She lives alone and don't even have the remote of this old TV Toshiba flat tube tv. Now she can see TV on the family. Not even the DirecTV installer could fix it because without the TV remote couldn't change the input to a video or hdmi option, which the TV didn't detect when connected the dish box. I used the DirecTV remote to change the input on the TV and done.

IT WORKED!!! I had my directv box powered off, & my TV powered off. It only took 34 tries and it turned on! Written, verbal, & visual instructions were perfect & easy to understand! I especially liked that you said to remove the batteries between each try. I tried watching other KZbin videos on this, but I could not get them to work for me. You're the BEST!!! THANK YOU!!!

You are the best, I just bought a Direct TV remote and I just could not get it to work with my TV. Yeah...this worked like a champ! Why Directv makes you go though a list of codes that don't work is stupid and a waste of time! None of the ones that had listed for my tv worked, but this did. Thanks.

I spent 45 min with the DirectV tech right now trying to help me set up a new remote. He couldn’t figure it out after trying so many things. He finally gave up and said he was sending me a new remote. After hanging up I went on KZbin and tried different videos. Mine worked until I tried yours!!! Boom! It works! BIG THANK YOU! Yep, dude is legit... Had a broken ass remote for almost a year with a nee remote collecting dust because I didn't want to have to have Direct TV come out and or sit on the phone for hours with no help... Did this in less then 5 minutes, frfr!! Thanks brother 🙏🏽

Thanks. Solved at 0:07. This worked so well that the directional buttons on my remote controls my Firestick through my TV. Incredible and a nice pleasant surprise. Pro tip; if certain TV options are missing from the code you used, then ‘skip’ that code and keep pressing channel down until the TV turns on or off again. (Either way works)

Ut Oh I ran into a roadblock with a different TV. It’s actually the same brand (LG) but a newer model. I followed every step and it turned off and then I pressed select and then power but then the volume still does not work. What did I do wrong? Should I just keep trying?

If it doesn't work, try it with the tv already ON. Following the instructions, the remote will turn the TV off, then you press select, then press PWR and your tv should turn on and be programmed with the Remote.

Wow--I tried the method my tv says and it would never ever work---your written istructions are spot on but I had to change the 991 code to 10812 for samsung tv and bang its working like my old remote!!!!! Thanks so so much as I have a older tv and the new method from d tv doesn't work with my set

First of all thanks for a great simplified video. It worked for me and was easy to understand. However, I have a Vizio TV and apparently there are many codes that partially work for this brand. On the fifth "successful" attempt, a code was found that worked for all functions. (ie power off didn't work for one, mute for another etc). But thanks so much again. The hint about removing the batteries was a big help as well.

Nice job it work for my jvc 55 Roku tv. Nothing else worked for me. The only thing different was I left tv power on when I tried. then I noticed my volume working so I hit select and now I’m good. Thanks man.

Works better if the TV is on before you program the remote to the TV so when the TV goes off then press select then power and it'll turn your TV back on and everything should work

2024 and just worked perfect for me! There isn’t a slide anymore so just skip that step. Also, it turns the TV on and off but doesn’t work for the audio and mute unfortunately.

It really works. Mine worked better having the TV on instead of habit off. It is and old Samsung so it takes longer to turn on, but it immediately turns off.

Thank you, it does work in a sense. So i followed all the steps and it turns on but it doesn't turn it off. Then i turn it off manually and it doesn't turn back on. I reprogram and it turns it on again but the cycle continues

Actually it works now. Instead of pushing the on and off button push the pwr button and that’s how it works

Das buttons my older TV remote were done. No longer Mute, Volume, or Channel Select, only das On/Off ist still working. I was given 2 of these older Direct TV remotes. Ja, this ist easy und everything works quite well again...Danke much. :-) Auf Wiedersehen aus Wiesbaden :-)

The select button is that big bright yellow in the center of the remote and you cannot see it? Then you said that the light would blink twice, it blinked only once.
