I’m not even brave enough to write down my story ideas let alone allow anyone near them, they remain rent-free in my head. I am genuinely excited to read a finished copy of your work, Slave Prince has definitely gone through a lot of changes since you first talked about it that I’m really curious to how it’s now turned out. We put so much of ourselves into what we create, that of course it's scary letting someone strange look at it... because then they tell you what that think... also scary to show friends the thing. Thank you for sharing the bits so far. Stranger that I am. Most of all I would love Slave Prince in my hands, placed on my shelf. and I fully believe it will happen one day! Totally get all of this. Although, I would correct you to say KZbin is dominated by Fantasy and Romance, not sci-fi. I've had a sci-fi novel out for nearly 2 years and I can't even give copies to people that historically have simply shown mail on their channel. People do not realise that as an Indy, you end up being everything, publisher/typesetter and promoter. It's not easy, but one thing I learned to do is treat it as a business. Yes it's your baby book, but random readers honestly don't care about that, they just want a good read.

@@bbg385 you aren't alone. I am constantly surprised I even managed to get this far on my journey. I think part of my problem is that my book has not found its readers yet. But it sounds like you have an interesting contemporary fiction there. Good luck with it.

I've considered writing a book but I'm bad at grammar and most of my dialogue would probably come out as (character said, then another character said) I'm much better at writing screenplays honestly.

I don't understand this nonsense about working for free. I love writing. I have written many stories and put my unedited work online. But the series I'm writing? The one I've spent a lot of money getting edited, proofread, professional cover, professional beta read? No, I'm not giving that away for free. Don't let people bully you.
