I live in a former British colony as a US citizen and find your videos filled with gems illuminating the many differences between American & The Queen's English I've never noticed or understood. We do experience a great deal of UK culture with television shows, movies, and the occasional actor you've seen in American movies for decades speaking with their natural British accent irl that you've never heard before! I am of Scottish descent - Clan Campbell (silent 'p'!) - and am ashamed & pissed off (mad) that I really struggle with an acceptable brogue. But what is clear in both Englishes is "These videos are fabulous!"

Objectively, it is easier because it's an open and straight vocal sound "a", unlike American English where the sound is like "ae".

The difference between can and can't in spoken English in the US lies in the ton, if you speak Chinese, you will have no problem telling them apart. We also pronounce can as /ə/, but we only do this if it's followed by a complement I can do it, I can always do it => can is pronounced either /æ/ or /ə/ but if we say I can. (full-stop) can is always pronounced /æ/, never /ə/

Before nasal sounds, British English says /æ/ meanwhile American English says [æ̃ə] as in "I can't, Sam!"

I'm from the PH and what I find funny when we say the word "can" is that if it's in its noun form, we say as it is but when we speak it in its verb form, it sounds like "Ken".

When I say Specific it always comes out as Pacific or something else I for some reason sometimes make the p sound like a th and I just get the word wrong also like when I say peripheral vision. I have always had trouble with my speech but I hate words when I have to say them so I try to ether describe it, point, or make up my own word that is what I have resorted too.
