Thanks! it was a good practice. May I share here a little technical tip I learned about yesterday? it's called funneling and, as I have tried it today, it appeared to be very useful to listen to your own voice during pronunciation training. May be it'll also be for somebody useful: - one hand is cupped with a palm just before the mouth and placed horizontally, the other hand is place at the ear, just as if you are holding an earphone (leave a gap of about two inches, or 5 cm, between the palm and the mouth, as well as at the ear; the finger tips of the first hand are touching the outer part of the heal of the palm of the second hand. Thus we've made a sort of an audio duct between the mouth and the ear and can now hear the sounds we pronounce loud and clear.

Thanks Ihori. That is a good idea. They do sell similar plastic devices that I have always thought about trying, but your hand technique is much cheaper 😀 . I may use it in another video. I will of course credit it to you 👍

excellent stuff again. Where exactly is the tongue blade? can you please locate it in a picture of the tongue?
@EnglishwithLiz2 жыл бұрын
Hi John, The tongue blade is the part of the top of the tongue right behind the tongue tip. "When the tongue is at rest in a closed mouth, the tongue blade is the part of the tongue that lies directly under the alveolar ridge. See this link for diagrams 😊 ingles-americano.blogspot.com/2012/08/phonetis-sound-of-american-english-3.html?m=1

How do you do words like knee do we just pretend the K is not there is always wonderful class I'm learning so much
@EnglishwithLiz2 жыл бұрын
Hi Becky, I just answered your question in another thread, but here it is again. For pronunciation, always look at the phonemic spelling, not the actual spelling. The phonemic spelling of knee is /ni:/, so the k is silent. Hope that helps ❤️ & 🕊

In Korean language, /g/,/b/,/d/ sounds exist. But these sounds don't exist in the initials of words. Many Koreans mispronounce 'Girl, Glass, Bad, But,Down' as 'Curl, Class, Pad, Putt,Town'.
