Hi Tarle,thanks for your help,it really help us a lot,and I have a question for you,if we pronounce the word 'always',there is a 'l'sound after 'ɔ',so,do we still need to put our tongue tip touch the behind of top teeth to make a 'l' sound,or we can just skip it, what's your suggestion
@tarlespeech4 жыл бұрын
People make it two ways: Oh-ways (no l) All-ways (with l and tour tongue needs to touch or get super closer to your teeth) Hope that helps.

Great video as always! I love the way the r sound is pronounced in American English as opposed to the British way of pronouncing, I still like it though. Speaking of the word “fear,” does the expression “more fear than harm” really exist? I’m pretty sure it does but I have my doubts now. Thank you for clarifying!
@tarlespeech3 жыл бұрын
I’m not familiar with that phrase. It may exist. I just am not familiar.
@thehourglassfan35153 жыл бұрын
@@tarlespeech I’m not that familiar with it either. I think I heard it once before that’s it but maybe there’s a better one. I will give you a quick example on what the sentence implies. For instance, John was walking down the street when he saw a big dog charging at him, only to find out later he was simply following his owner. So, it describes the fact of getting scared but there’s nothing more to it. What expression would you use on your day to day life? Thank you.

Try it this way: im-prov-uh-ZAY-shun. Stress the ZAY and make it louder, longer, and higher in pitch.
