In relation to the 'Flakpanzer 38' - the Germans continued production of the Pz 38(t) chassis beyond the 38(t) G, but only as weapons carriers. That specific vehicle is based on the Pz 38(t) L, but as it was never a combat tank, only ever a weapons carrier, it was designated Selbstfahrlafette - self propelled mount. In regards to the 234/3, the 'K.' stands for Kanone. The gun was a simple cannon, with no specific purpose (not AA, not TD, etc). For a short gun, kz. is used instead. For the Nashorn, you say it barely fits in the box. Funnily enough, THE BOX WIDENS TO MAKE SPACE :D For the German/Finnish KV-1, it's getting an overhaul for next patch. For the Coelian, the gun was called Flak-Gerät 334 (3,7cm Fla.K. 44), and the vehicle + the gun was the Flakpanzer-Gerät 554. The Panther II a fictional mess and send help Yes, MK is for Maschinenkanone. I think I broke MGB for the FlaRakRad D:

@@BurnInFerNos1 the panther II, there isn`t much to help with. as only one chasis was build. the used turret is a prototype for the panther I and nowadays the experts start to argue if it would have been used on the panther II. for the Roland the "15t" stands for 15 tons of payload "mil" for militärisch (military) (( which means specialy constructed for the Bundeswehr) "gl" for geländegängig (offroad). There are "tmil" "teilmilitärisch"(partly military) vehicles too, mostly used for your common civilian truck with added all wheel drive and some offroad tires:-)
@BurnInFerNos12 жыл бұрын
@@darkeolas6587 The only part fictional about the two vehicles is the turret design for the Panther II. Paper concepts and blueprints were created, but not built in steel which is why people call it 'fake'. The Panther II in-game however, is a real Panther II armour-body, but with Panther F fixtures (If we were to say the hull is fake, then so is the M1A2 we have ingame, as it's a mixture of M1A1, M1A2, and various SEP models). The turret is a concept from Spielberger's earlier Panther book, and was debunked to be a false conclusion as in their earlier research they falsely combined information gathered on the Panther II, Panther F, and various schmallturm designs. The real Panther II is just an up-armoured Panther D (Panther I), with new automotive components and a new 'compact' turret. It would still use the 7,5cm Kw.K. 42, but in a smaller turret. See Panzer Tracts No. 5-4 for more information, especially the introduction where they explain the misunderstandings in the past.

10:14 that one is something I actually can pronounce. The name panssarivaunu literally just translates to tank. It doesn't even specify that the tank is a KV-1, let alone the variant.
@BurnInFerNos12 жыл бұрын
It does exactly that actually. The Finnish military started using a short-hand registration system for vehicles after the Winter War. All AFVs were designated Ps. ### (Panssarivaunu ###), with each unique instance being a -#. So the first Ps. 272 would be Ps. 272-1. That being said, Ps. 272 was specifically KV-1 with addon armour, what most people call KV-1Es. Other vehicles in this list include the BT-42 (Ps. 511), KV-1 from 1941/42 (Ps. 271), Stu.G. IV G (Ps. 531), Converted Vickers E (Ps. 161), and many many others. In the next version of my mod the vehicle will be changed to 49 tonnin panssarivaunu KV-1B, Ps. 272-1 «Klimi», with the short name being simply Ps. 272.

05:41 I recently did a Video on the Halftracks and for that read the Spielberger/Jentz/Doyle Book on them. The number von tons in the name of the halftracks does not denote the load capacity of the vehicles but the authorized towing capacity in medium difficulty ground (?)(Mittleres Gelände). The reason for this is, that they were not trucks, but towing vehicles = Zugmaschinen. The load capacity on the smaller ones is around 1,5 tons and the biggest one has 2,8 (from memory) And I would say that VK=Vollkette (Fully tracked) and HK=Half track (Halbkette) I seem to remember Hillary Doyle saying it in a Video by Sofilein or the Chieftain. And it makes sense. 14:01 MK means "Machine Kanon" and not "Motor Kanon" :) And the "official" long form Names of the German post war vehicles arent simpler :) I did a Video on the Gepard a while back and the official name according to the "Technische Dienstvorschrift" is true to german form. Cant remember it of the top of my head though :)
@KoljaGamer2 жыл бұрын
Well written. :) People saying “Motorkanone” to “MK” might be, because of the Bf 109’s MK was designated as Motorkanone (Engine Cannon/Gun), because this 20 mm - or later 30 mm - Maschinenkanone was built into the engine (Motor).

Some more things explained: The obsessive habit of calling almost ALL military vehicles of WWII "Sd.Kfz." -> "Sonderkraftfahrzeug" -> "spezial motorized vehicle" came from the shackles that where put on germany after WW1. Building heavy military vehicles, or large amounts of even lighter ones wasn't allowed for germany after the treaties of Versailles. So they initially tried to cover up the development of military equipment by obfuscating the project names, and also initialy many of the Sd.Kfz where officialy classified as agricultural vehicles like tractors or caterpillars Of course, later in the preparations for the war that didn't fool anyone anymore, but they stuck to the scheme. Ausf. # -> Ausführung # -> variant (indicating that this is a sub-variant or special version of the general vehicle. Sf(l). -> Selbstfahrlafette -> self propelled lafette (A lafette is a undercarriage explicitly made to carry weapons/guns. It's opposed to towed weapons on wheels). Fahrgestell -> like you said "chassis" or also "undercarriage". s.I.G. -> schweres Infanteriegeschütz -> heavy infantry gun. VK -> Versuchskonstruktion -> experimental design.
