Thank you so much for sharing. It's by far the best video I've come across. I appreciate it a lot. It was incredibly helpful to me in understanding the common Greek pronunciation. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

@@eundebs I was being sarcastic in order to prove a point. Which reading of the two videos mentioned sounds more natural and more Greek? The first one or the second one? Despite its name "MODERN Greek pronunciation" is actually very old and much closer to first century Greek than Anglo-American-Dutch-Germanic Erasmian pronunciation. Despite what western academics say, Greek is not a dead language. Greek has been continually spoken for 5000 years. Of course it has changed during that long period. Greek is a living language and I recommend Modern Greek pronunciation for Koine Greek.

I use a Bible software program, open source, in Linux. Its name is ξίφος. At their website, they offer a small sound byte calling the software "Zheefoss". I've never heard of Ξ sounding like Zh. Am I missing something?

In English, the letter X changes in pronunciation. Compare X in words such as axe, oxen and fox with words in which x is the initial letter eg xylophone, xenophobia, xanthophyll. If X is the initial letter, it changes to a /z/ sound. But in Greek, the equivalent of X, that is, Ξ / ξ, is always pronounced the same, even if it is the initial letter. Type the word ξίφος in google translate and hear it pronounced. See my video: How to Pronounce the Greek Letters κ, λ, μ, ν and ξ kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJW9mJh_oKecnpI

I watched your video Rian The Boat Maker (Based on Subvsersive Jake's Story) but I don't know what it is parodying. What's the story behind the story?
