I used a 2 litre plastic bottle for rose cuttings and it worked a treat … great little mini greenhouse! … All the best from the UK 🇬🇧

Great tip! Might just have been unlucky here!

I cut the bottles and use the top as you did after the repotting. Sometimes I put a pot with seeds in the base of the plastic bottle, then I cut a short slit in the top part so it fits into the bottom part. I can not find long bags like you have. But because many in this town like to party on the weekend. There are plenty of free 2L pop/soda bottles Hahaha! Good experiment with cuttings!

Good idea to start off with cut bottles!

Great video, worked in the end just needed lots of patience 😮, have you ever grown from seed? Have a two week old seedling in peat moss/perlite mix, wondered when do you think it will be strong enough to change the soil to a specialist bonsai mix, akadama/larva rock/ pumice? Do you use this mix for your Brazilian rain trees? Thanks again 😊

I have grown the mother plant from seed, yes. I left it in the original substrate for a year before potting it into bonsai substrate.

I tend to have good success with cuttings, but my BRT cuttings always fail, and they fail quickly. Even though you chalked this up as not working, I'm going to try it, because yours is still persisting, which makes it much better than any results I've gotten. It'll be easier to be patient if it's sitting in a capped plastic bottle, I think.

Normally mine work quite well. I find younger tips to do better than woody branches

Great suggestion! Challenge is.. I have never grown them. So I cannot really make any recommendations!

Why did you leave the thorns?

Why not?

@@GrowingBonsai it would have been easier to get it into the bottle without them.

Effe on topic: Leuk experiment!
@GrowingBonsai Жыл бұрын
EIndejaars sale? Neuh, mij te ver en ik ga er toch niets kopen.
@bartstellink307 Жыл бұрын
Het is niet alleen een sale, er is ook een wedstrijd tussen jonge bonsai mensen en lezingen of demo's op de zaterdag. Zondag alleen sale. Het is voor mij redelijk dichtbij. Wil jouw wel eens spreken. Beetje sparren over youtube enzo. Gewoon nieuwsgierig... Ga je wel eens elders naar zulke dagen? (als ik me niet vergis had jij recent een video over een beurs (oid) in België, toch?)

if you do it properly, it will only take one month to start rotting

I do hope you mean rooting! Then I agree; My climate is fairly cool, but 2 months is enough kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHXEp3dqfJ2Fh8Usi=gb04iVExgiL8-rIB
