I got a free “busted” fiddle leaf plant from Walmart. (Got an aloe too🤩) The top half was broken and it was over watered. I cut the top half completely off and left the bottom half in dirt. Bottom half is already having new growth and it’s only been a week. The top half. I had to cut all the leaves off because they were severely damaged and had what looked like mites. I have it sitting in a south window with direct to mostly indirect light. I also live in central Texas. I put it in dirt. Should I put it in water? And should I provide more humidity for it? My house usually stays pretty dry around 35 to 50% during the winter.

Yesterday my family and I was outside picking Mulberries and I noticed my Parents’ big, beautiful FLFT, and spontaneously broke-off (yikes!) a little 1’ stem from my Parents’FLFT. I assumed I could propagate it since the stem had nodes and new-green growth on the end. I’ve been wanting to buy one for a while, and it never occurred to me to try to propagate from theirs to save me a couple hundred bucks!🤣 I wanted say hello to you bc you mentioned that you live in North Alabama! I live in North-Central Alabama in a city called Gardendale. I’m not sure you’ve ever heard of Gardendale but you’ve most likely passed through here if traveling to the Gulf-Orange Beach, AL or Gulf Shores, AL. I’m about 10 miles north of Birmingham. Many people stop on I•65•{ Fieldstown Road }•(my exit), to grab something to eat or get gas before you hit the Birmingham traffic. 😃 Just curious to know what area of North Alabama you’re from. What a small world, huh? May God Bless and keep you- and your loved ones too! Kim 😃✝️🇺🇸
