I have a rose bush that was planted in the 1950s. I have to move and I want to know how long can I keep the new rose bush in a pot. I don't know exactly when I'm moving, but it may be in about a year. Can a rose bush be in a pot that long before putting it into the ground? Thx!

I just had to do this 3 mons ago. I kept a bit of the ground dirt with the roots I dug up. Then put it in a nice sized pot with really good mix of peat moss, compost, vermiculite. My two roses are doing fantastic 3 mons later. In fact, they’ve both bloomed like crazy this summer. I had some delays in moving and didn’t plan to have them in pots for half the summer. But my friend at my nursery said they’ll be fine this winter as long as I keep them covered if we have a freeze. I’m in southern Louisiana so mild winters. I’ll plant them in the spring. I have fertilized and will one more time before winter. I hope this helps! 😊

Did this hundreds of times. Never worked. Finally just put 2 cuttings in water. Both rooted.

No soil and just water only submerged in water only? I’m also struggling and I don’t want this $35 to go to waste
@InADarkTavernАй бұрын
@@abrahamlopez1879 you spent $35 on cuttings? I would not use my method. Water works best for skinny cuttings
@abrahamlopez1879Ай бұрын
@@InADarkTavern they’re for 5 sweet grandollia cuttings and they are skinny. I tried increasing humidity by a lot and they swelled up and 1 died and another almost died. 1 died to mold so I did started to spray them with neem oil. One had mold so hopefully it will go away. Been 2 weeks and 4 days and I still don’t see rooting unfortunately and I used the rooting hormone.

@@abrahamlopez1879 you have to get it to callous before you commit to the cutting. Use just water until callous forms

A 5050 mix of (what?) compost?
@HelloWorld2B6 ай бұрын
Vermiculite but it can be substituted with vermiculite. They help with drainage

I have a rose tree , for some reason it got tilted too much that the branches are almost going to touch the ground. I was thinking of digging it up and replanting it in another location, of course I tried way too many different ways to make it straight up but no luck. Now there’s no way I can dig it out of the ground, it’s about 150 cm long. So I was thinking to try air propagate it from the trunk not to the branches, so it can be easier for me to move it rather than digging it up. The trunk is about 3 fingers wide. Do you think that would work?

I get tons of river sand cuz I do landscaping will that make a good alternative to perlite or no
