Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you take all these nods cuttings from the Monstera Obliqua. I’m looking forward too seeing how they turn out. I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up too

Thank you! I propagated them in small prop boxes with sphagnum moss and kept them moist and the majority of them turned out! I do have a short on their update of them starting to grow!

Eventually yes I’d like to get them rooted and growing first. I would hate to sell one and it not be successful.

I use this method and it works well for me. I also propagate when a plant gets good aerial roots in its own. That’s a good thing to look for when propagating.

I love this method for harder to propagate plants or plants I'm worried to lose during propagation. YES! Aerial roots are key when propagating. They are a big bonus to propagate where there are sone definitely.

for some reason i'm logged in on my bf account. that aside.. just wanted to say DANG GURL!! You are really good at this! I am lookin for info on what to do w a dubia runner and your video was closest match. you explain things SO WELL. you don't use too many words, you don't ramble, if you say something a newbie may not fully get you clarified what you meant. you're seriously kinda amazing!
@NailzByA
@NailzByA 2 жыл бұрын
Lol that’s ok but thank you I’m glad this was able to help! I also have the Dubia and I do the same thing with those runners. I have found that enclosing them in a little terrarium type environment really kicks them off and has been extremely beneficial to my runners! Thanks for watching!

do you have a video on air-layering the oblique? or i guess the main question I have is did you actually wound the runner prior to wrapping? I have little aerial roots starting and don't really feel like I should be damaging the runner lol
@NailzByA

Hey! I have a video talking about a few methods to air layering it’s the 6th video before this one and is titled air layering propagation methods but I didn’t air layer the obliqua in any videos. It seems like your doing a perfect job! Definitely don’t wound it! It will root just fine wrapped in sphagnum I always leave I little opening at one end of my wrap to be able to squeeze some water in to keep it moist while it’s rooting. I hope this helps, thanks for watching!

What are the little white cups you use to put the plants in?? What are they called and where do you get them. I just ordered all the stuff to make PON and now I need the white cups.. Thanks hon. God bless...

Net pots! I got them on Amazon so check them out there. They have a bunch of sizes and come in white black or clear. The little ones I’m using in this video I believe are 2” or 2.5” net pots I use these for my smaller plants and propagations and then 4” and 5” for my mid size plants! I will post a link in the description for you so just look in the description for products I used and there will be the link for the pots!

Air layering the newer ones is always easier because the aerial roots are fresh and still alive. The older aerial roots start to dry off. Try air layering the newer ones as the roots are still strong and fresh and I bet you will have amazing results!
@NailzByA

How long did it take for the propagations to take?
@NailzByA
@NailzByA 3 жыл бұрын
I have one so far that made it the others are still alive but only have tiny sights of roots and a tiny tip of a growth point as of now but for the one that took it took about 3 months to root, grow and unfurl its first leaf.
@plantgirlsammy7695
@plantgirlsammy7695 3 жыл бұрын
@@NailzByA three months isn’t bad for a runner prop. Hopefully some of your others will start to take since I saw in another vid you moved the rest into a prop box also.
@NailzByA
@NailzByA 3 жыл бұрын
Yea relatively quick for a runner propagation I thought! Thanks! I’m excited to see if more will root now in the prop boxes! We’ll see!

Mine was doing the same thing so once my runner kept growing and no leaves were coming in I chopped it all up and put them in prop boxes and two in a little terrarium and they finally grew into plants and are now growing great!
