How to properly apply foil to a hookah bowl, by HookahJohn

Hello HJ family,
With so many new people joining HokoahJohn's Circle of Friends on Facebook, I wanted to show you one of the most basic things you need to know about preparing a hookah. This topic rarely gets discussed in detail. I usually just tell people to make it drum tight, but then we were training a non hookah smoker to pack a bowl and realized he couldn't even foil it properly. This actually makes sense since there is some technique to it. Don't worry if you can't do it, it will only take you a few tries to get it right.

Is it ok if the foil touches the tabacco?

julij94 no, what ends up happening is that the coals will directly hit the tobacco and end up burning the tobacco a lot quicker therefore you get that burnt taste even though you still have the majority of the tobacco still perfectly good to use.

Remember that you first burn thr plastic off your foil.

How is it burnt ? It’s not melted the coals heat is not enough to melt the aluminum Is cooking food with frying pan unhealthy?

MinionFett77 you should put the shiny side under because the reflection keeps the heat inside more than the non-refelction side. Everything has a purpose
