Never hold the dipstick upside-down, because it could give you a false reading, the oil will follow gravity, so always hold the dipstick with the cap side up ,not down..... my dad taught me that. .... lol

On my 04 Ultra you do not screw in the transmission dipstick to check the oil

You don’t need a god damn Harley funnel. Pour it straight on the clutch pack and it will automatically fall into the primary

I was told by my HD service advisor I should check the trans fluid after running the motor a few minutes to get proper level on my 2017 Road King. I'm having questionable fluid level.

I’ve got a 2007 Electra Glide classic ... the owner’s manual that came with the bike calls for transmission to be checked on jiffy stand, but Do Not screw the dip stick in...?

I have a 2001 FXDL Low Rider. I just had the cam tensioners replaced and had synthetic oil put in. What type of oil do you recommend for the transmission and primary chain. Thanks.

Mobile1 is what I run In primary and engine 75/90 wt mobile 1 gear oil in tranny

use synth 3 , it goes for all 3 compartments : oil , clutch ( primary ) , trans

Scorp syn 3 is not your best choice, do some research I wont run it in my bike.

Adding primary oil without a bike stand is a real pain in the a BTW.

If it quits leaking oil it out of oil. Just kidding. They have gotten a lot better. When changing your oil take the drain plug and throw it away and go to parts store and get a plug for a Honda car with a compression washer instead of an O ring. Most of the bike is out sourced parts. Seems like they would have started with the simple things before suspension that is made in Japan.

Too bad you didn’t mention how difficult Harley makes it to actually read the trans fluid dipstick. What a joke! Almost impossible to read unless you add food dye or use redline. Engineers need common sense I guess.

Be careful. This video does not apply to my '05 Softail Deluxe with 88 CI Twin Cam engine. The author of video should have specified UP FRONT which bike this applicable to. They finally do at the 7:00 mark.
