Nice video...definitely do not need to remove the coilovers to adjust the height. I've installed quite a few sets on s2000s and I'm currently running the same setup you have. Only issue was the rubbing dust boot would bind up but I was able to straighten them without an issue.

I had a similar issue with the axle nut. Went thru 3 breaker bars before I got it off. Applying heat to it did the trick with a 1/2 in bar. I've since purchased a 1 in bar to have around, and that thing is stout.

+Yave Moya so far, I highly recommend them. They ride great and really made the car better
@rolandotillit28677 жыл бұрын
Did you pre-load the bushings? If you change the ride height, you want to loosen the bushings and tighten them at ride height, often since you don't have to unbolt the upper arm in the rear people skip this step and end up with torn bushings.
@Garagetopics7 жыл бұрын
+Rolando Tillit hey I sure did, and I totally forgot to put this in the video. Thanks for calling this out. A lot of KZbin coilover videos just show them installing the coilovers and they are done. Hopefully this video doesn't intimidate anyone, but more so helps them get their ride quality set up to perfection

Are you still running this coilovers of so how have they been holding up?
@oldheadneverlacking70104 жыл бұрын
Are the axle spacers necessary or is it a problem specific to certain s2000s
@Garagetopics4 жыл бұрын
The axle spacers are only necessary if you have a lot of miles on your s2000 axles, but they do keep the axle geometry in check after you lower the car - not a bad thing
@mpham8407 жыл бұрын
the car look good ... do you have to put the spacer under the Axel ?
@Garagetopics7 жыл бұрын
+Be Good goes between the axle and the differential. This car has a flange system so no oil leaks to deal with when messing with axles

Hi, why did you go for the Autotune Coil Overs? Need to buy some, but deciding which brand is a nightmare :-D
@Garagetopics6 жыл бұрын
I picked the fortune auto coilovers because I had not heard of a bad review on them at all. Also, they are headquartered down the road from where I lived which was an added bonus. 10/10 would reccomend

Are you planning on doing an ap2 rear subframe in the near future?
@Garagetopics7 жыл бұрын
+LegendaryAntwan if like to try rear anti-bumpsteer kits first before going that radical. I do feel that the car is slightly floaty at the limit, so hopefully a front tie rod kit and rear toe arms would do the trick

Do you have the Fortune or Swift springs and are you still happy with the 10/9 set up? I've got 10/10 Swifts and the car feels oversprung, even with the rebound full in on the front, 6 clicks out on the rear.
@Garagetopics7 жыл бұрын
I have the fortune auto springs. By over-sprung, do you mean "too harsh?" If so, the rear coils being 9k will make a big difference. In the s2k, you basically sit over the driver rear spring, so the rears being a 10% softer spring will make a large difference. My front rebound setting is stiffer than my rear setting, I think 16 clicks up front from full soft and 8-10 clicks up from full soft in the rear. Hope this helps - reach out anytime!
@sailinmon7 жыл бұрын
The car is too bouncy/unsettled on a bumpy turn. Thanks for the advice!
@Garagetopics7 жыл бұрын
Mine is the same way, I do not have much trust pushing the limits - do you have an ap1? I dont believe it is the coilovers fault, but moreso something to do with the suspension angles. I did not do some of the additional mods such as extended rear ball joint and toe arm
@sailinmon7 жыл бұрын
I've got an AP2 (2006). I'm going to replace the Swifts with Fortune springs for now. Do you think I should go softer, say 9K/8K?BTW, I rode in a track instructor's S2K with Ohlins coilovers with no other suspension mods and normal street tires. The car's ride was much better damped and controllable at high speeds.
@MastRk6 жыл бұрын
I'm about to get these coilovers .... Do you remember the measurements for the coils? I like your ride height
@Garagetopics6 жыл бұрын
Not off the top of my head, it took me a while to get it dialed in. The front 2 were set to the exact same height, whereas the rear were very different. I think the driver rear I had set 2 spins higher than the passenger side, to overcome me sitting in it, so that the car was perfectly level with me in it
@MastRk6 жыл бұрын

Good video but you don't need to completely remove your coilover if you want to lower your car. Just crack the lower ring and turn the entire shock.
