Yes IT IS PL-259 and not PL-258!!!
Connector: Amphenol 83-1SP (silver plated)
Cable: Messi & Paoloni Extraflex 10 Bury
The coaxial’s braid MUST BE SOLDERED. The connector has four holes to fill with solder.
See this: www.amphenolrf...
Use ONLY silver plated connectors!
Internet and a lot of stores are full of Chinese crap connectors, make sure you buy well branded connectors.
Use a 40 or 45W soldering iron with temperature regulated to 340 degrees Celcius.
Use 60/40 solder.
UHF connector (PL-258) is acceptable ONLY up to 30MHz due to high losses and it doesn’t maintain the 50 Ohm impedance above 8MHz.
Above 30MHz or always if you can, use Type-N connectors.
Last note: coaxial cable RG-213 is old fashioned. Today there are available cables with the same diameter and MUCH better, with less losses, higher power handling, higher screen efficiency and much higher screen noise rejection.
