Most important is being confident Because here’s how it goes for many beginners: -what if I crash -Jee that looks too hard 2 seconds later bam
@DM-qp7do4 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more, no confidence, no jumping until you find your confidence. If you can't find it, try another sport.

Yea I always think I’m gonna finally double it but then I get scared so I just roll over the jump
@huskyluva21804 жыл бұрын
Bryson96 I have a suggestion to make you more confident: Instead of being uncommitted to double the jump be extremely committed to roll over the jump, by saying to yourself you will roll over the jump you’ll start associating that jump with a sense of confidence. After doing this for however long, maybe 20-30 times then try jumping it See, I personally know that even if you man up and take the jump when you’re not so confident, things can end badly, I personally was lucky, but I absolutley cased this long ass jump and went super-manning in the air. Since I’m on an enduro i came back on the ground and the bikes suspension reloaded so much it sprung me off the ground again. Basically you just need to be able to associate the jump in general with being easy by doing easy things on it. It’s a neat little mental trick

I will soon be getting back into motocross. I'm 22 now but I haven't ridden since i had my yz85 when I was 14. This video helped me realize just how many mistakes I was making when I was young. Letting off the throttle too early, not squeezing my knees tight enough, improper positioning etc. It's no wonder I always landed wierd and could never seem to always properly get it right. No one ever taught me. It's honestly a miracle that I've never had a serious crash. I will definitely be sure to apply these when I get a dirtbike again. Thank you soo much for these tips and the effort you're making in these videos. It seems to work for everyone in the comments! I'm sure I will warm up nicely now that I have some good tips. Thanks again! Subscribed.

I just did MX for the first time in my life; previously only did trail riding and mountain riding here and there over the last 30 years. Stock WR250R (including stock on/off road tires). Was able to have a safe and fun time, hit and land every jump. I believe going through your videos really made a difference in translating my previous riding skills and style to the MX track, even if my bike isn't ideally configured for MX (front's too soft, etc.). Rode out from my house, drove to A51 in Batavia NY (people there are amazing by the way and maintain a great beginner MX course). I'm over 40, 30lbs over weight, haven't gotten to ride much in 3 years (other than regular streets). Registered, rolled onto the track, paced myself, stayed balanced on the pegs. Thankyou. You're videos are well done, very very well done. I think I had a great time today/tonight because of it and because I had a great track to play on that stayed mostly 2-3rd gear but could still get some great air.

if the jump has a kinda like a lip on the end, and you hit it and the front wheel goes stright down and you start doing a front flip is there anything you do fix it in the air or do you have to just brake both collar bones and hope you dont die? and is there something you can do before you leave the jump? say the jump has a lip or holes or something that can make the bike bounce
@mikedamisch6 жыл бұрын
If your front end drops it's time to "panic rev" meaning full throttle which drops the rear wheel. If you on the other hand gets front wheel high off a jump you can tap the rear brake (with clutch engaged) which drops the front end down.
@Godseverman6 жыл бұрын
dont work, i have tired ^^ ouch^^
@mikedamisch6 жыл бұрын
Godseverman it does work but there's of course a limit to what you can save. There's no other way to correct once in the air (other than moving you body around of course).
@wontrespond32636 жыл бұрын
Did the handlebars yank your body forward? If you don’t leave enough play in your elbows and the bike yanks your body weight forward good luck stopping a nose dive. If you’re loose on the bike throttle and brake can change pitch significantly. I personally pop the throttle off lips.

There’s a gnarly step up at my local track that I can only hit early in the day before everybody ruts it up and creates kickers. I see those guys blasting it no problem but I don’t know how. It seems every time I try to hit it while it’s rough the bike gets kicked sideways.

I thought landing and front wheel or rear wheel balance had to do with speed and foot brake control. You said just keep it at a steady idol from start to finish and landing would aways differ. I haven't done it,but I've seen front ends go up or down quickly with the rear wheel spinning and stopping in mid air.
