Great video! I have a very light trailer for hauling kayaks and noticed the beginning of what appeared to be surface rust on the leaf springs . So I found your video for instruction of preventative maintenance . Thanks!

Well done Ive done this on my leaf spring trailers, including my tipple axel trailer. Believe this has helped in the past decades

Absolutely, it helps! Metal on metal contact is never good. A little cushion goes a long way

Great video, thanks. I don’t care what the ‘nay-sayers’ think, I say anytime you can lube a metal on metal parts that move, it’s a plus. I don’t have the dust issue like you, I’m more concerned with rain, so I use Fluid Film since it sticks so well.

Great video, but WD40 isn’t a lubricant, it’s a penetrant, so you’ll need to follow up with a good lubricant.😁
@TylerTheFieldServiceTech8 күн бұрын
@@patriciaboice1844 it's not wd40. It's white lithium grease made by wd40. One of their many products besides traditional wd40.

What would you think about using a Dry Lube with PTFE or Dry Graphite Lube instead of the White Lithium? Just to keep things as clean and dirt resistant as possible... Thanks for showing the important locations to hit!
@TylerTheFieldServiceTech6 ай бұрын
Would be good options for dirt resistance for sure. Not sure if they would do as good as white lithium for the metal to metal contact. But it would be a fine choice I feel

I would try graphite spray it doesn't collect dust like wd40

WD40 contains acetone,,,,it only lubricates for a few minutes, but it will remove old oil and is great for cleaning surfaces before lube with grease or high viscosity oil

@@enricoderojassarson5596 you guy's might want to pay attention to the video, the brand is wd40, it's white lithium.

It looks like your "eye" bushings are shot. I always replace the junk nylon bushings with bronze and wet bolts

waste of time except for greasing the 2 "wet bolts"
