I can't understand why these videos haven't had more views. I've pruned thousands of apple and pear trees of all ages in commercial orchards in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, and this guy not only does it right, but explains the reasoning behind it in a way that anyone can understand. This is an outstanding video series.

Thanks for the kind words. Not sure why this particular video doesn't have more views. Below are a couple of pruning videos by Orin (that have combined views of 1.2million), winter and summer. Probably covers what you already know. Can you also notch in spring, early summer (june) or even mid summer (july)?
@Sam-tg4ii10 ай бұрын
1:40 couldn't you have used spacers to makethose branches more outward going instead of head-cutting them?
@ucscagroecology10 ай бұрын
Good question! Try watching this video and I think it will answer your question about why you make heading cuts and how the tree responds. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppCQl2lnZdd5e7c

Very informative and easy to digest. Would the notching be effective on young peach trees and or young Persimmon as well? Thank you sir.
