I use the same method, but add a fork brace for stabilization and 2 extra straps on the foot pegs incase a strap failure, tying down a dirt bike is like securing an upside down triangle, its top heavy! great video, I had a trailer similar to yours, and loved it.

I want to get a fork brace so I do not overload the front forks! I try to keep them in mind when tightening down the straps. Colorado is just so rough on fork seals, I'm always going through them! The three rail trailers are super light weight, and easy to load at the end of a long day of riding!

don't you worry about managing opposing forces on longer trips? what happens if you are forced to brake hard?. Would strapping the back wheels create redundancy (if one of the front straps/ carabiners fails) and keep the bikes in place ? Appreciate the video and your thoughts on that.

I just bought a trailer similar to this. It has two racks. My question is when I just want to transport one bike, should I shift the outside rack to the middle? Does that make sense? Or can I transport one bike riding on one of the side racks...? 🙂

Closer to you is better follow 60/40 towing rule whenever you can.

Just a quick question, I recently got a trailer for my bikes, just wondering if the bed has to be completely flat to strap/hold it in place, or is it fine to have a slight angle on it? And thanks.

A slight angle is okay as long as you have something in front of the front tires to hold them in place! Then somewhere good to strap the bikes to as well! Hope this helps!

I bought mine at the local motorcycle dealership. They were more expensive, but so worth it. Its amazing at the end of the day just to pick a strap up and it doesn't fall out at the bottom because of the closed ended hook.

I just call them motorcycle straps, most dirt bike shops carry them! They are so convenient, and really make it easier to strap down the dirt bikes!

Just FYI acording to the manual you are NOT securing the bike properly. The front straps should be over the lower triple clamp NOT the handlebars and there should be rear straps pulling back against the footpegs.

To avoid compressing the suspension, I would just use one of the fork savers to help that problem! However you still always want the dirt bike straps tight so they do not come off on a bumpy road!
