Detailed video but you forget to mention the most important part of the video. And thats what kind of rag to use. The acetone works but fibers from paper towel got stuck in the ferrule when i tired it. Pretty disappointed. Wish you mentioned this... :/

I use the white cloth belt that is less course but turns ferrules down quick. Is there a reason you don't use the white cloth belt?

A white cloth belt is great but it removes material VERY quickly. I ( Ryan here ) prefer to remove material slower and make sure the ferrule gets a proper taper - doesn't mean it cant be accomplished with a cloth belt but the fiber belt is easier. Also the cloth belts tend to break down easily and you get the threads everywhere - you don't have that with the fiber belt. Thanks for asking the question, hope this helps

@@OfficialGolfWRX what exactly is a fiber belt? I'm still not 100% clear how your belt touches the hosel of the club without damaging the chrome. How much trouble am I asking for if I use super find sandpaper on a 4x24 belt sander I clamp to my work bench?

I am finding it very difficult to create the right angles while maintaining equal pressure. Could you do another video focusing on how the club is set in the turning arm?

Ryan, if I use a 1x30" belt sander turning at 3260 rpms using the same belt you use, is that too fast to turn down a ferrule? I know the 1x42" belt sanders turn about 1800 rpms. thanks

where do I find the apparatus that holes the shaft while you are turning the ferrule?

I have some clubs I need to turn the ferrules on but they have a torched oil can finish. How do I protect the finish while completing this process?

Do not use 200 grit sand paper, do not even use 400 grit. Use very very very fine sand paper or you will tear up the hosel and ferrule

You can start with 150.if a big.difference.then.change.to.400.600.etc

@@neilcameron3021 NO WAY! I REPEAT DO NOT USE ANYTHING LESS THAN 400 grit and that may be pushing it! 150 grit will tear your polished hosel to pieces!
