Great tips !! I did a little reaming and soaked in hot water just to make it slide . The hint of epoxy also is key! Thanx ! Simple

Dude I’m glad I came across your channel! You keep it simple yet informative and it’s really helpful 👍🏾 I’m going to be getting some equipment for Christmas (hopefully) so I can tinker with my clubs myself. Keep up the great videos man.

Glad you find everything helpful! My goal is to make this easy to understand and help people better understand how clubs are built. Thanks for watching.

Awesome video- just a couple clarifying questions for us newbies: 1) Is this the same process if using on a .355 shaft which the ferrule was designed for? 2) Obviously, wouldn’t need to bore the ferrule out, but would you still heat in boiling water? 3)What’s the best way to remove the old ferrules? 4) Do you epoxy the ferrules in place against the club head, or just the club head (as usual)? 5) What did you mean at the end of the video by “once it dries all I have to do is turn that ferrule down”? Thank you for your clarification!

I ended go with no ferrels because I didn’t see this video in time ha. I didn’t really see a difference in looks and installing without ferrels was such an easy going process

l know l am 5 years late and thank you. Question, l have an old Titleist tour model iron (blade) and l don't know the year of it. l really like the head but the shaft is a regular and l want to pull it and install Project X 6.5 on it. My question how do l know whether the iron head is parallel or a taper? Are all the blades typically taper? Thank you.

Do you need boiling water or just hot tap water?
@ryanbarath19166 жыл бұрын
Jon H. Really hot tap water should do the trick with most ferrules. Thanks for the question.

Not boiling, just tried it, wasn't even boiling anymore and it melted my ferrules.

You can use a ferrule with no collar no problem

So i just ordered a set of ferrules from boyd blade & ferrule and a combo set of some titleist cb mb and ap2 long irons. It looks like they are all .355 taper tips, but I am unsure if the custom ferrules will fit because i remember my 680mb and 695mb both had collared ferrules. Any insights into this/tips for making these ferrules work into a collared hosel?

Hi Ryan, never thought of reaming!!! Question: Why is it that on occasion the ferrules and shafts don't match? For example a batch of .335 ferrules are either too tight (even after using the hot water tip) or too loose (slide all the way up the shaft). Is it a question of quality control of the ferrules, shafts or both? Secondly, if the ferrules are too large, do you just have to 'toss' them or is there a tip to make a larger ferrule smaller? The ferrules I use are from golf supply house. Thanks again! :D
@ryanbarath19166 жыл бұрын
No way to "shrink" them unfortunately. As for why some fit and some don't comes down to quality control of the ferrules. Shafts from any major company will have pretty tight specs for OD - outside diameter.

will those ferrules work on a set of titleist MBs?
@ryanbarath19166 жыл бұрын
They sure would!

Be careful with heating ferrules with a torch or heat gun. You can stiffen the feels to much and cause it to distort when installing it.
