Thanks so much for honest, accurate and thorough review. I have once damaged my skin so badly due to poor use of actives like bha, niacidiame and aha. I had to take accutane to recover from my horrible acne. The youtuber and the companies mostly say use these product everyday and even twice. They promise it will make your skin great, but thats a lie. Please read a lot, patch test, don’t overuse and definitely don’t mix actives in one routine! I don’t want any other pretty ladies to go thorough the hell I went.

I have been alternating the niacinamide 10% and the vitamin C product, topped with Ordinary's moisturizer. If my skin starts to tingle I skip for a couple days. I am over 50 years old, with olive skin, prone to hyperpigmentation. Ordinary's products have proven me to work. I have noticed smoother and more even tone, finer lines are minimized. It's good stuff.

Hello, Recently I had started using The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum. I did make the mistake of using twice a day.... and I did get irritation and redness.... But thankfully i stopped for sometime to let my skin heal... jus lathering with soothing moisturizers. I just wish...I found this video before starting. This video is really helpful for beginners. I'm so glad that I found this. Bought the product yesterday and used it twice by now. My skin is extremely sensitive and I really cannot use any product on my face other than a local tea tree oil face wash. No makeup, no cream..nothing. But I get whiteheads and a few black heads here and there with small pores all over the forehead. Got the niacinamide and neutrogena hydro boost water gel sunscreen lotion. 5:50 Salicylic acid actually works very well in conjunction with niacinamide when it's in a cleanser - like when you're using something like Ceraves SA smoothing cleanser. Inkey's 10% niacinamide + 1% zinc is great and they recommend the usage of an SA cleanser for clearer skin!

I used it everyday for 2 weeks and my skin barrier started breaking out I hated it. Then I discovered that 10% is a very high concentration. So I decided to dilute it. Again I had the same problem. But not willing to give up on it yet so I might do the once a week thing and see what happens.

@@alexsalvador796 I really don't know. It depends on the percentage not the brand. My skin didn't react well to 10% concentration of niacinamide. So I had to reduce it. Healthy niacinamide percentages are between 2 - 5%. 10% is just too strong for me. But if it works for you then that's gr8.

It’s actually really recommended to use niacinimide with other actives. Niacinimide on its own is not as effective as when using it with retinoids or hydroxy acids. Look up doctorly and dr. Dray on their niacinimide videos.

Informative! I just bought this product along with First Aid Beauty's Niacinamide. I did not realize The Ordinary's concentration is much higher than other products on the market and studies. I will use this with care. Also, I typically mix my serums into my moisturizer, like, put a few drops into my hand and then squirt some moisturizer on the hand too and blend. Is that bad? I just find it easier to apply and spread around my face.

I don't recommend pure rose water on your skin, and I don't recommend niacinamide or retinol ever either. But the time between the 2 is fine. And I especially don't recommend to combine your exfoliating mask with retinoids! other than that, it's a good routine

@@gabriellasantiago7160 I used the 10% but it was too much for my skin, I'd start with the 5% one or start using the 10% once a week and mix with a HA or Niacinamide serum so it's not too much for your skin

Besides the ordinary serum I've got: 1) Salicylic acid gentle daily cleanser by cosrx 2) Centella non-alcohol water toner by cosrx 3) Lightweight soothing moisturizer by cosrx 4) SPF cream by missha 5) AHA fruit toner by elizavecca. thank you so much!! well use it maybe at night, when you are not using the AHA, so like: cleanser> toner > serum > moisturizer. Use the AHA only 3-4 times a week, at night, on the nights you're not using niacinamide

yeah it's an active, don't think you should do that very often, except if you do it once a week and you skin really needs a deep niacinamide treatment, but the hyaluronic acid on its own can be good to hydrate your skin, also, you need a moisturizer to really do the job, it's a necessary product

Hyaluronic acid can be used with anything :) Use it before your moisturiser so the HA draws in all the moisture and it’s being most effective then :)
