Talk about a roller coaster ride! I had high hopes for the tape job... it started out looking like a fantastic job meant to hold for several generations to come... then all of the sudden.... BOOM!!! out comes the knife!!!! destroying the near perfect wrapping job. Thanks for the demo! God love you 3M

As per 3m, use at least 3 rolls per inch. That should keep their stock value high.

What is the purpose of doing this? If it is for sealing against moisture as you mention with the rubber mastic layer, I would have expected you to cover the entire first layer. As it is, it looks like a bead of water running from one end of the busbar to the other would slip under the non-adhesive side of the fiberglass tape and be drawn in by capillary action.

How can I find the instruction on how many layers are needed for given voltage? Also how will I know which tape is better for my requirement?
