Disney Journey with Jim Shull

Күн бұрын

This episode of Disney Journey is one where I share how I protect and store my Disney books in my home library. In a short step by step tutorial, I show how I have shielded my collection built up over decades. I show my tools along with my process.
Jim Shull retired from Walt Disney Imagineering after a career of over three decades leading the creative design of rides, shows and attractions worldwide. Disney Journey is a video series where I share personal experiences and insights about the past, present and possible future of the Disney Parks and Resorts. Disney Journey is also the KZbin channel where I To share insider knowledge and behind-the-scenes insights. #DisneyImagineer #HowtobeaImagineer #homedecor #homelibrary #homedecoration #Disneybooks #Disneylibrary

This is a prime example of the attention to detail, methodical and perfectionist characteristics that make up Great Imagineers like you! It is these deep rooted qualities that have created the real magic, the immersion and world beating attractions in the Disney parks all around the world. Thank you Jim for your contribution!. Although I like in the UK, I have had 17 Disney holidays in my lifetime as I love the mouse and all his rides so much. Great vid by the way, very informative, for when I get around to covering mine, one day!🤔......

Pro Tip: these expensive Disney books work with fancy materials for the pages; The problem: they tend to glue together! So be sure so often scroll through the pages every so often

I had a little bit to do with getting "Disneyland The Nickle Tour" published. I was great friends with Imagineers David Mumford and Bruce Gordon, who wrote and designed it in 1995. David used his home to secure the loan to get it printed in Italy. I also knew Imagineer Tom Scherman, the 20K Leagues expert, and we tried to get Discovery Bay built. Sadly, all three passed away in years past, but I had a great time knowing them and having lunch with them at WDI.

I also knew each of the three men and spoke to Tom shortly before he passed. We wouldn’t have 20K in Disneyland Paris without his efforts.

@@jimhshull I thought so. Tom was a great as they all were. I also knew Chris Tietz, and Tony Baxter, that I sold the Time Machine to, that he has in his home. Thanks, Jim for your time at WED and for your videos. I bet you remember the "Rodier Bldg.".

Nice, a lot of effort and interesting way of doing this. As a Librarian I must say, throw the dust jackets out and collect and store them separately from the books (maybe even as individual Art pieces) and use self adhesive book covering film for the books and for the love of god keep scotch tape as far as possible away from the books. Don't get me wrong I meant no offense. 😅

As a young man I worked in a public library (horray for real books) so thanks for your career choice. I share your horror of scotch tape. I do use tape on the plastic book covers but never ever on the book jackets. Thanks for your comments.
