Thank you. This was a lifesaver. It's horrible that DR makes it so difficult to save and or find files when even Avid is so much easier.

Glad it helped you out! I do agree - there’s no reason they can’t have a simple recovery or project recycle bin/safe mode styled database.

Thank you so much, I could reopen my most recent projects and now I know how to do it. But making a database save is far better ! 😊😊😊

I had an issue with .drp export. I was editing without the Project Backups button enabled. So when I finished my proyect I exported a .drp of it but the data was corrupted. So apparently I have no Project Backups anywhere, only I haveis the first project saved with none work on it and various Timeline Backups which I felt lucky about it, but I cannon open it. I've seen on BM forums and it seems there's a common problem with 18.6 version going forward. What's the point of Timeline Backups and Live save if that isn't gonna work without Proyect Backups wich is a default disabled option.

They each do different things. Live safe keeps your recent work safe in a crash/unsaved scenario, timeline backups let you revert to a previous point in the timeline if you’ve messed something up and project back ups keep you safe from the rare event of corruption or hardware death. I do however agree that this should be on by default and davinci should have it explained as part of the set up process. One thing to try is to open the project on another device or disconnect the drive that has the media on. I’ve read that this has enabled people to open corrupt projects then export them. If that doesn’t work I’m afraid i don’t have anything else for you to try.

"Step 1 go to database details" where the f##@ lip is this tab?

Go to your main davinci resolve database where you see all your projects. On the left go to the database you want to back up. On the right of that database, press the little i info button.
