Thanks for this instructive video Brian, very helpful. I’d like to get this option as standard when switching off the car 😄. I wonder though what happens with it when disconnecting and reconnecting the 12V battery 🔋…? Wont’t ask you to try, or… 😂

Cheers. As far as i know it will keep the setting.It’s just like a radio preset & they don’t go. The head unit computer has flash memory so will keep the settings.Feel free to give it a try.Yes it would be great to have a simple pin to stop the car from actually being driven like the Tesla has.

Cheers. Valet mode is persistent.Turning car off does not get rid of it or even head unit reset.

Another helpful video. Thanks Brian. Just on this topic, I noticed that the driving distance is set to 100m and 0 mph. Can these parameters be changed? Just thinking if I drop my car off at an airport valet service and they take my car to an offsite parking facility can they do this with those limited settings? Thanks

I believe those numbers are a log of how far/fast it's been driven in Valet Mode, not settings to restrict it...

I also noticed that the "Valet Mode" on the Kia Connect app home page is not shown on my Apple iPhone. Any ideas why? I also have the updated version 2.1.6

Maybe I'm missing something but its not clear to me what valet mode actually does. According to the screen you showed it limits top speed to 0 which cant be right. I'd have like to see you try and start the car and drive off and see what happens.

Sorry i know it blocks settings,limits speed and audio volume but had to dig around for the speed limit.15mph is the speed limit in Valet mode.

19th February 2023: EV6 Valet Mode Activated via the mobile phone. However, on the 22nd February tried to turn off Valet Mode via the mobile phone. Will not deactivate? Tried again 2/3 hours later - will still not deactivated Valet Mode via mobile phone? Tricky. Any tips welcome. May have sorted the deactivation via mobile phone - tried at 18:15 hrs and the mobile turned off Valet Mode.😀

Kia Connect has been playing up for over the last 5 days. Sometimes it works after many re-tries. Kia servers must be having problems. I’ve been manually activating/deactivating on the screen. If you manage to de-activate from the App i’d revert to manual password mode on the screen.

Thank you Brian. As ‘Valet Mode’ was enabled using the KIA Connect using the App. It seems I have to use the App to turn off ‘Valet Mode’? If this is 100% correct this could cause problems if there is a problem with the mobile phone, or mobile network? Need to do some more checks. Yesterday, I had to use another car due to the issue?

Hello Brian. I need EV6 charging advice please. My Kia app is set to charge to 80% from midnight at home. I was shopping at a Tesco store, so connected it to the free system using my own cable and all the charging lights appeared. But when I returned there was a message to say that it would begin charging at midnight! How do I over-ride the App timing to make it charge immediately? When I use, say BP Pulse and connect using the charger cable it starts immediately. But using my own cable at Tesco made the car think I was charging at home. How do I over-ride that?

There is a button inside the charge flap below the door button that will override charge schedule,never tried it myself so worth a try
