I am definitely voting for a video regarding creating conversation around a book! I will be releasing my first novel this year, and that would be an incredibly helpful video for me. Thanks so much for all your great content! You guys rock!

I am completely clueless on social media and in the publishing and promoting yourself spaces! I would love more information on where to start conversation. I have never had a blog or anything, and rarely post on Instagram. Where does one find these circles where you can reach like-minded people that would be excited about your book/series? I know its good because I love it and I'm sure there are more people like me out there. But how and where do I reach them if I've never been actively posing, only consuming? Also, is anyone else scared that someone steals your ideas? Paranoid I know...

Love this discussion of the difference between self-publishing and traditional. There are so many options for indie authors these days!

I don't write my books to stick them in a drawer and move on to the next one. I'm willing to do what it takes to get my book published. Just writing the book is one part of a multi-part sequence of events.

Currently, cough(procrastinating) while doing Abbie's recent write with me live stream but I will come back and look at this as I do not want to daydream about my book anymore. 2022 watch this space. OK back to writing sprint 😉

I'm in the first revising stage of my novel and I can't help but think this far ahead. I'm rewatching podcasts and Abbie's line editing and revision videos to plan the year out in my bujo, and this video helped immensely. I'll definitely be here when you go more deeply into publishing!

I'm so grateful for the content you create. This podcast pushed me outside my comfort zone 😉 and made me share my work with a wider range of readers. It has been a crazy and fulfilling experience. I've been sitting on this project for 7 years, but I'm planning to contact publishers soon. Thank you for all the encouragement! 💕

Instead of thinking: I want to publish in 2022 I decided to think: I want to have my book ready for publishing (ready to see the world) in 2022, and depending on when I reach that, it can either be published this year or not. But thinking "having my book ready for publishing in 2022" takes pressure off and helps me be more at ease. Makes sense?

I just want to say that I absolutely love your podcast. Every Tuesday morning I look forward to listening to you guys on my commute. Right now I'm working on my first draft and didn't know if this subject would apply, but I was interested in learning for later. You guys gave so much great advice that I could start on right now. I would very much like to hear about the free tools we could use now, that sounds amazing. Thank you for all you do! You have been such a blessing to me on this my writing journey.

This is a great topic, thanks! I’m in the editing phase of my book, and I would like to self publish. But several years ago I produced a piano album and made heaps of CDs, but only sold like 20 of them, and now 180ish CDs are sitting in a box in my closet gathering dust. I am worried that the same might happen with my book and that would be so sad. So at the moment I’m leaning towards traditional publishing. Nonetheless some super helpful tips here!

Yes, please do an episode on free ways to promote your book! Since I'm on a budget, would you recommend a developmental edit, or could I do that myself? Thank you so much for another amazing episode.

19:54.. I literally read over my manuscript so many times, I forgot what story I was writing lol.. Seriously though, you have to put in the effort and countless hours, you can't just expect it to be handed to you on a plate.. Writing is easy, editing is hard.. on my final reread before I format and print it

Self publishing seems like it is extremely easy to create the book but INCREDIBLY HARD to market and make any money or be known. Traditional publishing seems like it is INCREDIBLY HARD to have anyone look at your book and increasingly difficult to get published.
