The Arched back pull up is easily the best form of pull up for beginners to learn, the hollow body pull up has great application to calisthenics skills, Archers are great for working to the one-arm… With all the types of pull ups out there, which is your favourite (even if you can’t do it right now)????

Good tips. I find performing negatives ..starting at the top then holding for a few seconds during the lowering stage ..to be helpful. Also working on grip strength with dead hangs. I'd add that pull-ups are easier if one's bodyweight is lower, so if weight is an issue then diet is important

Thanks for sharing this program Andrew! I have two questions: - What is the recommended amount of rest between sets of the same exercise? - Should we try to progress the exercises within a cycle or should we keep number of reps or time constant within a cylce and only increase the number of reps or the time in the next cycle? Many thanks in advance for any advice!
@CaliToTheCrowd3 ай бұрын
Great questions! 1. In terms of rest aim to get to hit at least 2-3 mins between sets (even if your feel like you could go sooner). this will help prioritise quality 2. If you can progress an exercise in a cycle, try going for a slower eccentric or a slight pause at the top as the go-to method of progressing before doing anything else (like using a lighter band or adding an extra rep). Keep up the hustle!! 💪🏿

If you have regular access to a lat pull down, working up to doing 50% of my body weight has been the best simulation to the muscles for doing a similar amount of pull ups (I found easy to stay motivated to work on it w/ a pull down bar). But after years of low activity, I can no longer do even one and no access to a gym. All of the recommended regressions haven't been very effective and they are less satisfying (as I remember lat pull downs) therefore hard to stay motivated to do them often enough to have the best results. Also as I go about my day I rarely see things I can practice pullups on where I now live (eg a bar I can reach or an exposed underside of stairs) as I go about my day in comparison to years past.

Very comprehensive video and we'll made video keep it up !. Do inverted rows fall under the hypertrophy category? How about jack knife pull ups. Do they fall under strength? Will this programme also work for learning hollow body pull up?
@CaliToTheCrowd2 жыл бұрын
Great questions! For inverted rows, these will help with our overall pulling capacity so I personally would aim to do these alongside my resistance band pull ups. e.g. a workout could include: resistance band pull ups - 3 sets, 12 reps then inverted rows - 3 set, 12 reps Jackknife pull ups are great too but can be harder than resistance band pull ups. I personally would put them in the strength phase of a beginner's training and aim to get at least the 3 reps of them, perhaps after some pull up negatives

Does a persons weight come in to play with how hard it is to do a pull up
@CaliToTheCrowd Жыл бұрын
Great question - and I have a video on this coming soon, but the short answer is that yes it does matter, but body fat % is a more accurate thing to measure more so than just weight, because more muscle (which increases weight) will make the pull up easier

There is one God, who created Heaven and Earth. He made us in His image and likeness. He made us to worship and we chose to rebel against God. As a result we are seperated from God but God didn’t leave us. Instead God sent His one and only Son, His Son is Jesus. He was born of a virgin and lived a life without sin, though He was tempted in every way as we are. He went on the cross and He willingly took our sins past, present and future. Jesus died in my place for my sins, paying my debt to God and purchasing my salvation. Jesus died but He rose on the third day victory over satan, sin, demons and hell. Jesus tells us to share this story of the Good News and there’s a God that lovingly pursues us. Jesus is coming to judge the living and the dead and those who trust in God will forever be with Him in His Kingdom and those who do not will suffer forever in hell.
