thank you for the tips. I have been using the assisted machine at the gym. forgetting to us my bands instead. will do them moving forward.

The machine is decent for getting you started, but bands and negatives are definitely where it's at 👊🏿

You‘re so right about people not using bands! It drives me crazy! A friend of mine wanted to learn pull ups and I recommended the bands every time he came to train on my bar but he refused to use them and now has a very bad form. Idk if it was bc I‘m a female athlete or what but he just wouldn‘t listen to me although I am the one who actually could and can do proper pull ups >.> very frustrating indeed.

I hear that! That's extremely frustrating! All I can say is that if people don't want to listen to experienced advice, then that is on them. Maybe one day they'll come back when they need support

I do my pull ups on a very thick bar - around 6 cm in diameter. It's impossible to hook my thumb around it 😅
@CaliToTheCrowd Жыл бұрын
Ah! At least when you do end up doing a pull up on a thinner bar, it will feel far easier! 💪🏿

@@CaliToTheCrowd I've got an injury in my coracobrachialis for doing too many pullpus. Spent a lot of time on rehab. I'm getting back to pullups again - slowly and carefully 😅

Darn it im struggling too. I can do few, but i feel that my forearms are highly engaged 😞 any tips?
@CaliToTheCrowd Жыл бұрын
I hear that. This will dial down as you get more used to gripping a bar. But in the meantime, try this out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4q0o4FpgrZmrZI

Great tips! Do you have workout programs available? When you got into calisthenics did you learn what to do online yourself or did you purchase a workout program?
@CaliToTheCrowd Жыл бұрын
Hey Rammus, I don't... Not yet at least. Most of what I have learned, I have self taught over hours of training, and training others. Not the most efficient way, but (for me) the most enjoyable)

Did you experience elbow pain when learning the back level ? Building up my hold time but the major thing holding me back is elbow pain after doing the he back lever a few times
@CaliToTheCrowd Жыл бұрын
That's a great question. I personally didn't, but before I learned how to back lever, I had been told by many people to watch out for this problem by more experienced cali athletes. What I did to get around it was I spent two solid months working on high rep range of bicep curls and tricep curls; essentially conditioning the elbows connective tissue. full video on calisthenics proofing your elbows incoming
