@@Billyfishing_watch I think the reason people believed you couldn't pump blow is because they tried it at the same places where they dug them and, like you say, those places are WAY too dry. It's all about suction and it's the water that gives it! Great video.

@@Billyfishing_watch I have now found out what we call French tap here in the Netherlands is black worm with you I think if you have never used a pump to collect your bait then the diameter of the pump is also important because I assume that you need to gain experience pumping your worms i saw in other videos here about pumps with a diameter 5cm i assume the bigger the diameter the easier it is in the beginning
@Billyfishing_watch2 жыл бұрын
Yes easier to learn with but the other pump is more effective, once you get the hang of its 👍

Thanks for posting this awesome video. Just wondering if this works in shallow water. I live in Sweden and we dont get tide like u guys. But we got lots of beaches with shallow waters. A couple of days ago I saw several signs of lug worms so Im curious if your technique would work. Cheers
@Billyfishing_watch2 жыл бұрын
Hi. it's funny that you should ask, because that is why I started using the pump in the first place. The tide didn't go out very much a where I was. most of time it was just shallow water, and answer to your question yes it does work in shallow water. just use exactly the same technique it takes a little bit longer because you have to wait for the sand to settle before you can see the worms sometimes. Hope it works out for you see you on the beach 👍😁

@@Billyfishing_watch haha oh I see. Well then I'll try your method. It seems like Lugworm's option nummer one when trying to catch flatfish. Were gonna try to go after Plaice and Halibut. Thanks for the answer and for taking the time making these awesome videos😃

Hi Tom. Sorry, but me and the pump are not in the the same country right now. If you take the pull bar with you to the hardware shop, help you out. The nut was a stainless steel nylon locking nut. Hope this helps out. Thanks Brother 👍😁

@@baldchapfishing9215 I don't know why people use it. I tried it once , never again. All you need is some type of lubricant, in a small bottle. Think of the environment, that's what I say. 👍

Question where are these worms located and is there another name for them?
@Billyfishing_watch2 жыл бұрын
Hi, you'll find them at low tide in this land. In Europe and many other countries. They have many names, throughout many countries where you find them. But in English they're just called lugworm. They also have a Latin name but it's not really used.

Very interesting,Im a beginner.I see this is more estuary mud than traditional sandy beach which is where I go.I was more successful in summer not great more luck than skill.!Why was I struggling to locate them today ?it was ebb tide and casts but I dont see many blow holes why is this?Im going to adjust my pump and see if I can improve the suction-its a Flashmer pump and Its all there was at the time.,really frustrating!!!
@Billyfishing_watch3 жыл бұрын
There many things to take into account. 1, are they blow lug. 2 is the sand wet enough,3 are you just killing them, ie, get bits of worms, pump more slowly. Hold the suction in the pump and lift at the same time, hope this helps, brother 👍😁

I found years ago that blow lug with thin skin didn't freeze well. Skin was too thin. However, the blow lug that were black froze very well. They need to dry off on newspaper, wrap them like black lug and freeze. Make sure they are air tight so they don't get freezer burn. I used to use regular gutted blow lug like this... Gut, spread on a couple of layers of newspaper, fold them into a parcel. , Leave them in a cold fridge.. They'll last a week and go off just enough to be a bit sticky....always caught on them.
