one thing to note about early queen attacks are its position and your pieces position. yeah the queen looks scary, but always remember the queen cant mate by itself. it always needs at least one piece to deliver a mate. you gotta check all the squares on which the queen can attack you and defend properly. while you're driving the queen away (because enemy is looking for potential mate) you found yourself developing pieces more and they just keep on moving the same piece again and again achieving nothing.

The best piece of advice I got when I was new was just “look at every piece the queen attacks”. Incredibly obvious in theory, but just taking an extra second to be sure I’m not moving a key defender away from a piece meant queen attacks were suddenly easy to beat instead of terrifying

I like how people think they know more than masters lol. That's not a great move because white plays Qd2 and you lose a lot of your attack. Bg4 is absolutely brutal. If Ke1, black plays Nxc2++ (mate). If Kd2, then black plays Nf5+, with the discovery now, white can't block with the queen. If white blocks the check with f3, Nf3, Ne2, or Bd2, then black captures with the knight and has a discovered attack with the queen, all of which are way more devastating

then theyd play Qd2, then youd have to move your knight out of the way of the attack from the pawn on e4, Nd4 gives up the knight, Nd6 causes a fork on the knights from the pawn, and anything else opens black up to a potential queen trade that prevents castling

4:34 Also in this situation, there is a fork with knight. (Knight X C2, that move forks Queen and Rook same time. It forces the King to move, because they can't eat the knight in any way, this way you both get a free queen and your opponent loses the right to castling.)

This helped me so much. Just played a game where this exact thing happened. I counter attacked his Queen to where he eventually lined up the Queen behind the bishop on the white diagonal, and I made the knight move you mentioned sacrificing the pawn. He took the pawn putting my king in check, I moved the Queen up to get out of check, he realized his Queen was under attack so he moved it to the dark square, thus hanging the bishop so I was able to capture it with my king.

After Bxa3, white can play Qe4* check forking the king and knight so you really can't get the rook unless the players are low elos. But good video as always.

At 7:02 in my opinion the bishop check is a miss because there is knight to f5 because it is a discovered check and it is attacking the queen. There is queen to c2 which offers a queen trade so we instead move the bishop before the discovered check to b4 or make the knight take the e pawn and if they don't move their queen know we move the d knight to f5

In your example at 4:30, you could also move the knight to C2 and do a threeway fork with check and take their queen. Good move or no?
@smippycis6285
@smippycis6285 Жыл бұрын
well yes, but they put you in check, so the check is needed to be cleared first, but if after the capture the queen hasn't moved or moved to a spot not defending C2, ez rook.

How to punish the early queen attack: 1. Play the Sicilian Defense 2. Try to go for the invisible knight fork 3. Offer a draw 4. Humiliate the opponent 5. Literally play anything else than e5 6. Don't play chess anymore 7. Develop your pieces while trying to hinder/block the opponents attacks. 8. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there

The best move would be knight f4 at 7:02 It's a discovered attack with our queen so the king must move, and then you can capture the other queen

Decades ago, during my college years, I played a game of chess with a fellow student, a girl who'd never fail to let a moment pass within which she would remind anyone nearby how smart she was. So, I started the game. I brought my queen out early, captured an unprotected pawn, but managed to get it hung-up on B7. I resisted thoughts that I had blundered and managed to develop a really strong middle attack with my other pieces directed at her un-castled king. Obsessed with freeing my queen, I suddenly realized the only safe move I had for it was to E7: checkmate. Completely unplanned. To the explosion of laughter from those watching, I realized instead of a win it was an escape (which I said to her), and I never wanted to play her again.

7:01 I would recommend doing knight f6 allowing for a discovered check on king and an attack on the queen by the knight. Their best move is to block the attack with their queen but I’m sure there is some crazy checkmate sequence out their for this position lol

Literally came to comments to say that lol (Also knight F5 right?) It probably isn't a GM level move but I can see a few lines that while it would trade queens it essentially has all of blacks pieces developed while white hasn't developed anything.

7:05, because you'd be forcing check, the King would move to the left, or down one square. If they moved to the left, that's forcing the fork all over again. If they moved down one, you could still go for the pawn, because that would open up the Queen head on to check again. If you don't want to lose your knight, you can simply move him to a spot that could also force check from Queen, while keeping pressure on/ guarding other pieces/being guarded.
