We bought 8 acres of raw land, off grid, in the Canadian Wilderness and decided to build a tiny house as our first dwelling. Our Tiny House will be a Yurt. This Yurt build and Yurt life will be a journey, we hope you SUBSCRIBE and come with us! Enjoy #offgrid #tinyhouse #woodstove #alone #livingoffgrid #garden #offthegrid #boat #yurt #DIY #gardening
Nicole and I are attempting to live off the grid in British Columbia, Canada. We have 8 acres of forest property sandwiched in between the Pacific Ocean, a fresh water lake, and a stream which flows year round from the lake into the ocean. For over nearly 10 years I grew a fruit tree, permaculture, garden, and native edible plant, herb, and raised bed garden food forest. You can still watch all the garden videos of my old desert garden in Arizona. I was born in British Columbia and I have returned to the Rain Forests of British Columbia to a "Raw Land" property to grow my 1st FULL EDIBLE FOOD FOREST Off Grid on a wilderness property. This climate is temperate and coastal, rarely seeing snow in the winter and highs in the 80's (30 Celsius) in the summer. It is a rare microclimate that spans from gardening zone 7-9. The property is 8 acres and completely overgrown, mostly with conifer trees. This area is a verifiable rain forest and situated in the Southwestern-most tip of the Canadian "Great Bear Rain Forest". NicHolistic ( / holisticnicole ) and I will be learning about edible seaweeds, edible native plants, edible mushrooms, and many other edible native trees/plants as we attempt to Build a Yurt, Draw Our Energy Clean, Live Off the Grid, and Grow an Epic Superfoods Garden and Fruit Tree Orchard. We will also have a lot of changes coming so get ready. More videos and BTS Clips at my VLOG channel / adventureswjakenicole

Water tank? Somehow...gutter the yurt then maybe a series of Stryker transported small tanks that are off ground with taps on bottom? I don't know really but some sort of catchment would save lugging water from stream. Good luck can't wait to see what you choose!👍🤙🙏

Do you know you can also deep fry the chick peas and mix with salt, garlic and hot pepper if wanted and eat it as a snack just like peanuts? Like that it is called channa in Trinidad and Tobago. It can also be curried and used as a side dish. Here we curry it with potatoes. Curried, it is used is a Trinidadian Street food called doubles.

So let's think about this "installation" so far. They have a say, 1000 lbs stove, resting on 4 legs, with maybe a total of 8 square inches on contact. I don't know what the support structure is underneath that 3/4" plywood sub floor but if it is not 2x10 on 16" centers, there is a potential problem ! The plywood could flex enough to break the adhesive and screw bonds to the beam and then fail. This would take time, but they are SO FAR BEYOND THE SAFE LOADING LIMITS it could happen ! Either add PROPER bracing underneath (𝑁𝑂𝑇 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑡𝑜𝑒 𝑛𝑎𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒 2𝐵𝑦𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 "𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑚𝑠") 𝙊𝙍 raise the stove and place the legs on some 4x6s that span 2 beams.
