In this episode I go over a hands-on demonstration of how to properly put line on a spinning reel. Sure it may seem easy in theory, but it can be done incorrectly... and lead to many problems and delays such as tangles and line twist. Ever wondered if there's a right or wrong way to spool a spinner??? Yes, there is. If you use a spinning reel and are looking for some guidance into putting new line on, or maybe you've fished your whole life and are looking for some info you never knew existed... This episode's definitely for you.
Enjoy,
Tight lines & good vibes.

Hi Heath, That was simple and the best way to fill a spinning reel spool. I'm surprised how many people get it wrong. This will help a lot of people avoid future head aches. Say "Hi" to the Fish Slayer and the Fishing Girls. Hope you have a good weekend and I'll talk to you on Sunday. Good luck and have fun, Mickey

Hi Mickey. Thanks a million for watching. Always makes my day to read your comments first thing in the morning. Always find a way to brighten up the conversation. I truly believe that this is the right way to put line on a spinning reel. I used to do other methods but they always led to line twist overpacking The reel or some weird thing that would cause some anomaly that would make life hard and only cause delays. So I stick with this it's super simple and it gets the job done right the first time. All the kids say "Hi Mickey". Hope all is well with you and your family. Everyone is doing good here as the air starts to get more mild the temperatures start to cool off the weather becomes a little less summer like. Thanks again for everything Mickey. Talk to you on Sunday. Take care :)

Thanks a trillion for watching and always taking out time from your life to show up and leave a little something positive in the conversation. People might say I'm crazy but this is the correct way to school a spinning reel. Other methods only lead to line twist and weird anomalies and tangles that just cause delays. If you do it this way you can totally avoid any of that foolishness. Thanks again for all you've done for the channel for the longest time now I truly and sincerely appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)

Thanks a boat load for watching and leaving some great feedback. Always a pleasure to hear from you. Truly appreciate you taking out time to stop by and chat with me. For the longest time now this is what I believe to be the best method of spooling a spinner. It truly leaves you without line twists or tangling problems or overpacking your reel. It's just me being me trying to keep it simple and down to earth and show what works that I've learned through many failures. Thanks again for your support and channel I truly and sincerely appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)

thank you i use the piscifun spooler and it solved my problems and i could adjust it to pack braid on very tight so that it didn't bury itself

Braid doesn't have any memory like monofilament or fluorocarbon so the problems of spooling a reel are different. Maybe Heath should do a tutorial on that topic as well.

Thanks a million for stopping by taking out time from your life and always being here. Can't thank you enough for all you've done always sharing some insightful advice like this. I've always believed braid is a whole other ball game from monofilament. It acts differently. It floats differently. It has a whole different set of issues than monofilament does. Regardless can't thank you enough for sharing. Sometimes I'm glad I don't know everything. Hope all is well with you and your family. Tight lines & take care ;)

Thanks a million for watching and always being here taking time out to stop by and chat with me. I've always believed this is the proper way to spool you're spinning reel. For a long time before I figured this out I used to have someone hold the spool and apply pressure while I was winding it on. Never figured out why the curly cues would occur as I was letting my line out the first couple of times. Just figured it was something I had to work my way through. This technique is spot on and 100% helps someone avoid this major problem when it comes to spinner fishing reels. Thanks again for everything you've done and always keeping the conversation interesting and positive. I truly appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)

Hi Alex. Thanks for taking out time from your life to stop by and watch and leave something positive in the comments. I keep telling myself there's more than likely people out there that think I'm crazy for saying this like this but this is the way to put line on a spinning reel. I'm sure there are other ways that help avoid mind twists and over packing but this is what works and I find it to be the most simple and effective method for a down-to-earth angler like myself. Just me being me trying to share what I know that works versus what I've learned through all of my failures over the decades. Hope all is going well for you at college. Thanks again for all your support I know you're busy. Tight lines & take care ;)

@@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing Can’t thank you enough, as you can tell, your channel is growing. I would prefer personally slow growth and people that actually interact and watch the videos. Some of those channels with big subscribers don’t actually have the people watch the content.

I think I missed it but assuming the direction of line coming off the spool of line is counter clockwise.... And, fire up that fan man! lol. Looks hot in there!

Thanks a million for watching asking a great question. Yes when you pull the line off of a spool it comes off in a counterclockwise fashion and then your reel spins clockwise which makes the line conform to the school naturally this is what helps you avoid line twist when you're letting it out. And yes it is quite hot in there the lights make it a bit toasty. Wish I could fire up a fan but then you wouldn't hear anything but a fan blowing. Thanks again for taking out time from your life to stop by and watch. I truly appreciate it in your support for the channel. Tight lines & take care ;)

Label up doesn't always work. What does always work is just make sure the line comes off the spool the same direction your reels bail turns.
