Any advice on where to get projects, I am trying to start this and see if I could rely on this for a full income. the only thing I need would be people to buy the websites. And also would it be on them to get the domain name or would I get it aswell as create the files?

Nobody is going to pay someone to make them a website when they can't even type a coherent sentence. I suggest you work on your english and then research on some marketing ideas. @acesuon71635 жыл бұрын
For those of you who are watching now and having issue getting your site online(like myself) after following the video, I'd like to mention a few things. 1) if www doesn't exist, use public_ html folder 2) if you can't reach your site using, ip-address/~use , or just 403 error forbidden: This happened to me because I bought my domain name from a different website(Domain.com) than my hosting service(HostGator). If you're having the same issue, you have to go to your domain website -> click Manage -> find "DNS and Nameservers" and add your "1st Nameserver" and "2nd Nameserver" (given to you by your host service provider like Hostgator).

I don't understand some important thing. For example we are creating small Hotel site. We need Main page with booking, Photo and Price page, Contacts page. Main is index.html, price.html and contacts.html. All files are styled by main.css. Also we can do some JS (for ex. if we wish some Slider on the main page). We need to create booking script. But how? We need some database for it? Where we can store info about free and booked rooms? And after all we can upload files via ftp.
@learncodeacademy10 жыл бұрын
You'll need a backend stack for this, including - a database (mysql, mongodb, etc) - a backend framework (PHP [laravel, codeigniter, etc], Node.js [express.js], Ruby on Rails) CodeSchool and Treehouse both have lessons on rails. I keep a list of coupons here: webdev.willstern.com/so-you-wanna-learn-web-development/
@AnatolyKhalizev10 жыл бұрын
Great, thank you! Modern web developer must to know both front and backend? Or in companies one programmer works on frontend and one knows backend better? You yourself love node.js more then ruby?
@learncodeacademy10 жыл бұрын
It depends on the company, really. Lots of companies have people do one or the other, many others have all developers do some degree of both, with some employees being more expert at different areas. Knowing a backend technology certainly creates more opportunity for you.
@AnatolyKhalizev10 жыл бұрын
LearnCode.academy And one more question. You said that beginner needs to create sites for church, friends... But beginner know only html+css+js. What kind of site can create this developer? Only Informational and portfolio? If he don't know how to use node.js, mongoDB.
@learncodeacademy10 жыл бұрын
No, you're totally right. Once you learn HTML,CSS,JS, though, it's a lot easier to get a job coding HTML,CSS,JS if you have work to show for it. Not to mention the invaluable experience of building real-life projects. There are TONS of small businesses, restaurants, musicians, etc that only need HTML, CSS, JS sites. Many developers I know have freelanced for decades without knowing backend code.

@learncodeacademy10 жыл бұрын
What I'd do is start by building out the html+css of the site to match the grid of your design: i.e. a header that's 980px by 150px, 2 column layout with 20pixels of margins, etc and then add your photoshop sliced images into that. HTML+CSS first feels more painful, but is actually a lot more simple in the long run.

Hey a few questions for you if you are still doing coding. First, how would you code a site so the domain name automatically shows if it is rights reserved: "Domain must be in the same format as site name, no edits, at no cost." But the web host refuses to honor that right, and ICANN won't do anything? Second, wix.com got a coding program. Could you do a tutorial on? fixing the design flaws in Wix Photo Albums (Not the Pro gallery Panel system) Features that need to be re-coded. Hide the title, Keep it in the back round (for google seo) Hide the business logo keep it in the back round. (for google seo) Show only the cover Square fits, the Cover Image Function for the preview site. Code App to allow each album to be created as a database collection (allows better password protect and fluid password control; Easier downloads) allow individual photo download disable group download password protect and show passed words in the database collections Code for allowing separate journalism written page within the album. Code member and admin pages for wix photo albums, require submission of id to admin eyes only database before downloading of wix photo albums content.

well, there are already tons of tutorials like that. but what would be really interesting, how to put my node.js application online? are there webhosters for node? or do i need an virtual server? if yes, what if i want to run multiple websites, like with apache with virtual hosts? :)
@learncodeacademy9 жыл бұрын
If you check out my playlist for Mean Stack Tutorials, I have a 3 part series on deploying node apps. If you want to run several HTML or PHP sites, hostgator gives you cPanel, which is a visual interface for adding multiple websites...I have many on a single server.
@TheSuchtlaaa9 жыл бұрын
Yea multiple php/html sites on a single server is no problem^^ but as im still new to nodeJS, im not sure if there is an option for "virtual hosts" with node, as example www.example.com -> directs to a node app www.example.net -> directs to another node app the only way i can think of is to install a common webserver, and create for each domain a virtual host which redirects the request on a different port, but would that make sense? like wouldnt it completely fck up the ideology of node?

Yep. CSS has all of the css stylesheet files LESS has all of the LESS stylesheet files. LESS (and SASS) are languages that are basically css, but allow you to do some smarter stuff, and then you can compile/convert the less files into actual css. If you're just starting out, no need to worry about less/sass for a while. Coding css is perfectly fine.

Do you drag any data folder in the www of cyberduck? what about databases, how you add them? I am using mongoDb and the domain page is not showing connection to the database. thank you
@learncodeacademy10 жыл бұрын
Hostgator will only support MongoDB if you use their VPS (virtual private server) service...which is too expensive for you you get in my opinion. If you're comfortable with MongoDB, you might be better off using a virtual server from Digital Ocean for $5/mo bit.ly/UVm40Y Hostgator, you'll need to use MySQL, and you can add MySQL databases through their control panel login.

For big websites that are going to use html and constantly updating do they have to keep uploading the html page again and again? and if they do does it take like upto 24 hours or is that just for the first time Thanks :)
@learncodeacademy9 жыл бұрын
YM Tech The 24-hour is the amount of time it takes for your domain name to get setup the first time, so that's one-time. After that, changes are instant. If you get to the point that you're updating things more frequently, you'll want to use a "deployment strategy" other than FTP uploading. Here's an example with flightplan (which requires some github knowledge): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ7InJ2GnbaoecU Most of the large-scale sites have content that is generated by information and articles that live in a database somewhere, though, which requires "backend" server code to be put into place.
